The best good faction to play with?

I've been playing TATW for some weeks now, and I crashed to a problem: the only (good) faction that was really rewarding to play was Free Peoples of Eriador. I was thinking about that problem, and thought about this kind of thread. The question is: what is the most rewarding good faction in the game? I myself say FPoE, but what do you think? Gondor, maybe? Or perhaps the Silvan Elves?

By "rewarding", do you mean experience, fun or something else? Personally I think Dale, Dwarves and FPoE are most fun, but as I said I'm not sure what you mean

For Me Rohan mainly because I love horse base armies and also because is fun to save Gondor with your Rohirrim "Forth EORLINGAS !!".

I personally love the High Elves. Their units are excellent, their arrows are a nightmare for anything that is forced to take them (they shave off a huge number of units during sieges, both types, and you will mostly use them on orcs and goblins, plentiful but with a lot of "rabble" units in general), their western holdings are pretty safe and lucrative with ports, and late game you get some of the most beautiful units and you will have to destroy the hated enemy in his own lands.

Yes, but only at the beginning. Imladris is far from the other lands, which means a ton of money down the drain because of corruption. But once a few towns start slowly growing and you take out the OotMM, you're pretty much set.

Gondor for me, it's very tense those first 100 or so turns because if you lose even one battle the enemy will send his armies straight to the White city. I get a rush out of the challenge of holding off two of the hardest factions to beat in game (Mordor due to it's 3 or 4 garrison script settlements and Olog Hai, Harad because of it's cavalry.). I just don't have the same feeling with other factions besides maybe Dale. I can see why people would think Eriador is fun, but it's really just a race for Arnor which you will probably need if you want to face Isengard with relative ease.

Silvans! Easy to get lots of veteran 3gold sentinels/generals by slaying hordes of orcs. They you see a 12-pack of trolls charge your lines on open ground and get mowed down without your lines even stepping back.

well , the faction i most enjoyed with is the Silvan Elves.
i just love bows,arrows and ELVES. xD
so its the perfect race for me , so many ranged units! even ranged mounted units
and ofc i got few of my fav charecters(haldir , legolas ).
and alot of epic battles like : battles against mordor at dol guldur & capturing moria so the OOTMM will stop harras your cities.

What I find most frustrating most of the times is High Elves, Arnor and Dwarves: You sit up there in the north(west) being surounded by other (allied) good factions while the south is going to hell and you are unable to help them because it's just to far away!

yes if you like challenges.. but you still have OOG , isengard, ootmm . that can be a lot of trouble

well ofc its for an "easier game" if you play on easy... like in every other campaign.
try to play on vhard like i do , lets see if its gonna be easy for you to survive while getting attacked from

A thing I like about Silvans is that most of your territory is Ambushville, I haven't tried it yet but ambushes and bows like machine guns must be great to mow down hordes of invaders.

Despite the early-game slowness for the FPoE, the late-game upgrades (ie, Arnor), more than make up for the beginning lack of firepower. Arnor is what clenches the FPoE vote from me.

from what i remember, arnor units are quite weak
if mordor and harad took gondor your new units wont manage to defeat them

i only ever play gondor

dwarves are very rewarding for my infantry based strategy but you spend like 100 turns on getting their engine started which usually results in gondor and rohan being wiped out

Depends what you consider fun. Showering your enemies from a distance with elite archers? Go either of the elves then. Taking your cavalry and trampling down orc after orc? Rohan's your answer. Plowing through Gondor's lines of infantry with Trolls/Mumakil? Go with Mordor/Harad. Many many choices. Just all depends on what you're looking for.

High Elves, I once destroy OotMM and OoG with armies consisting of a general, 5 armour upgraded Sword Quendi, and the rest of the army is armour upgraded Bow Quendi, usually with 0 casualties. I sir, am not -ing with you. Later on though, I'd replace Sword Quendi with Eldar Infantry/Spearmen, and the Bow Quendi with Noretirno Archers or Eldar Archers. Overall though, the same formations and tactics, this was on H/H btw.
