Jon Arryn arrives at the gate of Winterfell with only 5 companions.

He is greeted at the gate by the Captain of the guards,

Who goes there, friend or foe?

OOC: 5 companions makes me think that you aren't flying banners...

"Jon Arryn's the name. My 4 men mean you no harm, neither could they. I wish to see Lord Stark."

Then entry is yours! Head towards the main keep.

Once arrived at the main Keep, Jon and his guard dismounted, gave their horses to the stablemaster, and entered the Keep.

They are met by a servent,

Lord Eddard will be down soon. Would you like something to fill your stomachs?

OOC: Not really in a mood for any major RP right now so I may not respond for a little...

    Ooc: allright.
ic: "No, thank you lad. My men and i will wait here."

They wait for atleast 15 minutes before Eddard comes down,

    Jon!

Eddard exclaims before rushing over to hug his old mentor.

What brings you this far North?

"A proposal, Eddard. But how have you been?"

Fine, I've been fine... This proposal, I now cannot get the question out of my head. What is the proposal?

"My daughter, Elsa. She is 19, and unmarried. I would say the Wolf and the Hawk make an excellent hunting pair..."

Eddard thinks for a bit before responding,

The Wolf and the Hawk make a good pair if you can tame the Wolf...

"My daughter is a good tamer."

    Eddard laughs out loud,

She had better be a good tamer to survive a marriage with any of my sons! Yet I was refering to a different matter entirely...

    "Oh?"

Eddard gets a puzzled look on his face,

Do those of you in the reach not use the practice of Dowry?

"Ah, dowry. It can be arranged, though we of the Vale usually use our trust as a dowry. But please, what were you thinking about?"

My sons are all over the age of becoming men, so I was thinking that they would be more favorable if they had something to sweeten their deal. Besides your beautiful daughter.

"Yes, i submit, Eddard. Is 15.000 acceptable for your heir?"

15,000 to the heir, my bastard just won that in a tourney! For third place.

"And your heir, what has HE won?"

My heir is a man of battlefields and battles, he prefers not to attend to any of these tourney's of sorts unless it is nesscessary for a reason. Although he does currently hold position of protector of Moat Cailin along with Warden of the North.

"15,000 is a seizable amount of money, Eddard. I shall make it 25,000 but no more."

I think that we are agreeable in that amount, 20,000 Dragons for my son and I'm sure he would agree on giving his new wife 5,000 Dragons to help with any preperations needed.

"Tell me, do you want the ceremony here or at the Eyrie?"

I'm not sure as of yet, there are many things to consider before choosing that.

"You have my consent, whatever you decide. But please, make haste. Elsa is 19 already, and most girls are younger than her when they are married."

It shall take me 2 months to make the plans and send invitations and another month to set it all up and get guests to the location.

"As you wish. Elsa shall be here in 2 months then."

Roose Bolton arrived in Winterfell with a small entourage. He asked the Maester for an audience with Lord Eddard.

The Maester lets Lord Bolton in and leads him to the great hall.

    He gives a bow
"My Lord Stark, there is something that I wish to discuss with you in private if you will permit."

    Eddard sighs,

You would think nobody in this world was trustworthy, everything must be so secret.

With that he stands and heads towards his solar.

Once in the solar alone with Lord Stark, Roose sighed
"To think that thousands of leagues away sits our King. One we didn't even fight to put on the throne...."

Lord Roose was hinting at something. He was hoping that Lord Stark would catch on without him having to go into much detail.
"Little boys all over Westeros are sitting where great men once sat, and we are reduced to making them happy. "

Eddard saw an inkling of what Roose was hinting at but let none show on his face.

Yes, these men have made the moves and gotten to these positions..

A small caravan of two wagons, and a half dozen men-at-arms arrives in Winterfell, and uncommon sight so far north, the standard bearing the Falling Star on a Lavendar field, the sigil of none other than House Dayne of Starfall and High Hermitage. The man in lead of this caravan is dressed in a gorilla fur, which even swallows his portly body. Underneath he wears a fine wool vest on golden silk robe. A very odd sight to see indeed

Excuse me, good guard of fine Winterfell, might I request the presence of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell. I have an interesting trade proposition that might take to his liking. If you could be so kind as to look in to provide me an audience with your fine and mighty Lord?

The merchant holds up a clenched fist, and unwraps his fingers where 3 gold dragons sit between his closed fingers

Perhaps a dragon for you and your friends for your troubles. Might be it buy something nice for your mistresses, as good looking men as you are to must have. If I am too bold I apologize, my good man, I know men of power and authority when I see them, best to befriend them than to offend them.

The merchant awaits a response, as he bows his head in a slight nod to the guards in hopes of assistance

The men look at each other and grin at their good luck before reaching for the coins. Out of nowhere comes a shout,

You take those coins and I'll take your head!

Benjen Snow finishes walking to the gate.

Now, what is this good fellow here for?

Qorsyn turns to the myserious man, whom he takes for a nobleman by his attire

Greetings, Lord... Stark. You fit the part ofcourse, a strong, bull of a man, the epitomy of a northman. I know powerful men when I see them and you most certainly are. I was just being entertained by your fine guards here, I just wished to show my appreciation for their hard work. I apologize for any offence I may have made of you, My Lord.

My name is Qorsyn, Qorsyn Dayne, I represent the trading interests of Lord Henryk of Starfall. I have travelled far from Dorne to engage in trading with the mighty North. I seek audience with Lord Eddard Stark, a powerful Lord I assume you know very well, My Lord?

Benjen laughs to himself, a few more "my lords" and he could be at a fancy ball... Outloud he says,

I thank you for the politeness but I am not a lord, my name is Benjen Snow and I am head of my fathers watch. As for meeting him, I'm sure an audience could be arranged.

My Apologies, my good man. You could easily pass for a Lord by the looks. A trade proposal I shall like to make to your Lord, would be mutually beneficial for Dorne, and the North, I assure you, Benjen Snow. The merchant nods slightly in a submissive manner

"There fathers and kinsmen did, yes. But them...not so much. The North has been cutoff from the Southern lands for quite some time. Our customs are not the same, our Gods are not the same...yet we bend the knee too quickly to men who have yet to earn their position."

He approached Lord Eddard, and spoke softly

"The North is a special one of a kind Lady, and should be ruled by someone birthed from her."

Benjen thinks to himself for a minute before responding,

The lord is currently indisposed, I could lead you to the great hall to wait for him tobecome free if you wish.

    Eddard glares at the man,

Such talk from one of my bannermen, when one of my friends holds the throne! How would you like it if a close friend was being talked about in such a way!

But ofcourse, my good man, ofcourse. I shall wait until your Lord's time has freed up, I'm in no rush whatsoever.

"If you can find someone who would call me a friend, then they would deserved to be talked about."

He smiled and bowed his head in respect

"Thank you for your time Lord Eddard."

    Eddard looks at Roose,

I suppose that I should say it wasn't my pleasure...

And with that Roose left the solar with guards told to make sure he left.

So how fares the North these days? They say in the south, Winter is Coming. I joke and say "I see no Starks here". The merchant giggles trying to lighten the mood

After leaving the Citadel Maester Celestiyn made his way to the dockside, hoping to find passage to Kings Landing. After a day of fruitless searching he was about to go back to the Citadel when, at the very edges of the dock, he came across a merchant vessel bound for Kings Landing. Not wanting to crack into his funds, the Maester haggled his way out of having to pay for passage, in return for teaching the Captain's children something meaningful for the duration of the journey. Maester Celestiyn was only to happy to oblige, and so they set put that very next morning...

After an overall peaceful, albeit long, journey they arrived in Kings Landing. The Measter had been to Kings Landing a few times when he was a boy in the travelling band, but couldn't remember much of it. The first thing that struck him was the awful stench protruding its self from the city, and second was the sheer size of place. If he hadn't spent so many years in Oldtown he'd probably be more surprised. They docked and the Maester said his goodbyes, before testing the children on the life of Aegon the Conqueror, the 'meaningful' thing he'd taught them. They recited, badly to say the least, but it seemed to please the Captain, who wished Maester Celestiyn the best of luck in his future travels.

Maester Celestiyn began his search for passage to White Harbour, which, thankfully, proved to be more fruitful then when he last searched for passage. He found a ship within the afternoon, and they set out straight away. This voyage proved to be more of an ordeal, there was a storm, gentle the Captain called it, which rocked the boat from side to side continually. It was then that Maester Celestiyn discovered his sickness of the sea, for nigh on the entire journey he was throwing everything he had out of his mouth and into the sea. Not the exact image he wanted to portray as a Maester of the Citadel, but one that could not be helped.

The storm passed and they arrived at White Harbour, only slightly behind schedule. Upon landing the Captain bought up the matter of payment, and sadly this time he would not be swayed. So Maester Celestiyn handed over a handful of coins to cover the costs, something he'd no doubt claim back at the Citadel. He was, lets say, reflective at being back in his town of birth. Many of the places he still remembered from when he was a boy, and on impulse he almost stepped into the brothel where he grew up - but something stopped him, what if his mother wasn't there? And if she was, did her really want to see here? He decided against it, perhaps in another time he'd go back and see here. But not now. Instead he made his way to another pub, rented a room, and fell asleep happy he was back on dry-land. The next morning he got his breakfast, and then left. Maester Celestiyn wanted to get to Winterfell as soon as possible, and there were too many memories lurking about. He didn't want to walk all the way to Winterfell, thus he borrowed a horse from the stables, a fine specimen too, with a Maester's promise that it'd be brought back, and set out on the last stage of his journey, after purchasing some food and drink for his travels...

I'm finally here Maester Celestiyn thought to himself as the giant castle that was Winterfell got ever closer. It had been a long journey, and he was glad that he had arrived. Maester Celestiyn entered the Castle, and was met by...

    Have I done this right?

OOC: Done this right! This is almost over the top! Excellent.

Maester Celestiyn was met in the castle by Godfrey Stark. Godfrey noticed the robes of a Maester and decided to introduce himself,

Hello good Maester, what brings you here today?

    Benjen looks at the man,

Yet it is true, we received the white raven but the other day. Winter is coming whether we want it to or not.

I suppose that shall effect your people the most. The temperature drops in Dorne during the winter, but we only ever really recieve snow in the mountainous northern regions if anywhere. It becomes rather chilly in the central part of the Country however, faring temperatures as low as 15 Celsius. Far to cold for my liking. But perhaps it will allow me to wear this Gorilla skin coat I so much adore. Qorsyn hopes Benjen will comment on his mysterious coat

    Benjen chuckles,

It is cold up here and snows every season, Winter just makes it colder and snowier and I think my fathers family words say the rest.

    Hahaha, thanks.

Hmmm, this can't be Lord Stark; can it? I imagined him older somewhat. Never mind, get on with it you old goat, the Lord is waiting. After all he can't be that bad, he called me a good maester. God it is good to be back in the North.

Maester Celestiyn dismounted his horse, with a struggle, and walked over to the man, pulling his horse along by the reins, extending his other hand he said, "Lord Stark, I presume? I have some matters I'd like to discuss with you, (and not all good ones at that)," before inclining his head in a bow...

Godfrey shakes his head and laughs at the Maester,

I've a few more years yet before I take that title of 'lord' from my father. Allow me to introduce myself, Godfrey Stark, First of His Name, Protector of Moat Cailin.

I knew it! They do look quite similar though. However, why isn't he at Moat Cailin?

Maester Celestiyn laughs along, and withdraws his hand, Godfrey seemingly forgot to shake it. "Well met Godfrey Stark, I'm Maester Celestiyn. Please forgive me it has been so long since I've been up this far North. (Is your father present?)" Maester Celestiyn questions, whilst his horse looked around the courtyard, probably after some hay and a stable.

"Ha!" Maester Celestiyn laughs, "Your eyes betray you boy! You're a young lad, I know you don't want to be stuck showing this old goat around. No, no... I'll wait in the hall, if you could let your father know I've arrived that'd be sufficient. Also," he says whilst reaching around to the back of the saddle, "could you please make sure this chest makes its way to wherever I'll be waiting? Thank-you." After which he hoists the small chest off his horse, and carries it back to where he was standing, before placing it on the ground, with a certain fondness. "Ah, and before I forget this horse needs to make its way back to White Harbour somehow, I'd be obliged if you could see to the arrangements." He contiuned, a sort of smile appearing on his face.

    That'll annoy the lad...

I did the eyes betray you bit, because you said trying to keep the politeness. Is that all right?

    OOC: Works great.

Godfrey looks at the man surprised that he was able to tell so easily. He then calls over three servants, two to show the Maester where to go to rest and carry his chest there, along with getting him anything he needed and a third to find a party or caravan heading to White Harbour that could take the horse along with them.

Benjen has a messenger run up to him and whisper in his ear that Eddard was finished with his previous audience. Benjen told the messenger to go away afterwards and didn't tell the merchant the difference after he strangley went from over talkative to shut tighter than a clam.

    Thanks.

Three servants? He must be fed up with me!

Maester Celestiyn bows, his back creaking ever so slightly, before getting ready to follow two of the servants into the hall. When one of them went to pick up the chest he asked them to wait a minute. He knelt down and pulled a key from out beneath his robes, and unlocked the chest, taking our a sealed piece of parchment, before locking the chest and telling them to continue. Standing up his eyes met that of Godfreys, and the Maester gave him a look of appreciation, before turning around and following the servants to the hall.

    Now where is Lord Stark...

When he reached the hall he was shocked, momentarily, at the size of the place. It truly is a great structure. Bran the Builder has lived up to my expectations. Entering it, a few eyes turned to face him at which he just nodded and smiler in return, and they soon went back to their previous tasks. Maester Celestiyn saw an empty table in the corner, and made his way too it, beckoning the servants to follow. Sitting down with a sigh he asked them to put the chest down, and, if they could, bring him a horn of ale and some bread, a bowl of broth would also do wonders he added.

They soon returned with the food and drink, and he thanked them, chucking them a dragon between the three of them. They looked from the dragon back to the Maester, before bowing their heads and retreating off somewhere.

You might have been to generous there, fool! Just hope the Starks aren't bothered by it. Ah well, they did bring me some stew. Taking a swig of ale he tucked into his meal, which was rather delicious, awaiting the arrival of Lord Stark. From what he'd heard he was glad he was a patient person...

After the Maester had gotten his meal one servant came back and waited to do anything that was needed to make the Maester comfortable while he waited.

Great! You give some of them money and more come flocking over.

Maester Celestiyn sighed in despair as he saw another servant approach, asking if there was anything else he needed. He thought for a bit, the servant still waiting there patiently. "In fact, I do a have a request. Do you have anyone from the Nights Watch visiting, I know Winterfell is a frequent stopping place for men of the watch. If so, I'd be grateful if you could ask one of them if they've got the time to speak with an old man. Thank-you." He asked.

The Maester hoped his request would be fulfilled, and waited for the servants response...

The servant hurried off but to no avail. He came back a half hour later to say that no men of the Night's Watch had been through Winterfell for almost a month.

He''s finally back... but without anyone.

Sighing again, Maester Celestiyn thanked the servant anyway, and asked him to come back when Lord Stark was ready. "Wait a second!" Maester Celestiyn called after him, "is there anyone who may want to speak with an old Maester, whilst I wait for Lord Stark?" He finished, hoping their would be someone with some interest at Winterfell.
