Mob terrorizes Hospital

Last night in Denmark a Eid-festival in the suburb Vollsmose ends in shootings, stabbings, and a hit n' run driving, and up to 80 armed gang members attacking the hospital which the gun victim was taken to! The law-enforcement present there was unable to keep the mob at bay, as it broke into the hospital terrorizing the employees and patients a like. Fate of the gun victim is unknown.

Throughout today the danish police has been rounding up suspects.
Now the University Hospital of Odense is seriously considering employing armed guards as a result. Threats of further rioting has been issued by the involved gangs as a response to the arrests.

About the event, I do not believe it will happen again any time soon. As of hiring security guards, it would be pointless. You can protect yourself against small criminality with a security unit quite effectively if it's well run but in such case of high offensive, there is no way you could stop it without being prepared for such an attack. Against 80 guys with weaponry, even a police station of average size wouldn't have sustained the attack. That guy must have seriously pissed off a lot of the local mobs.

A little update on this from Danish sources: 6 arrests have been made both in connection to the shooting and the incident at the hospital. Some sources suggest that riots may break out as a response to the arrests. There are still nothing definite about the motive, guesses are on a clash between two immigrant groups with a possible biker gang connection. The gunshot/stab victim was wearing a bulletproof vest (but was shot/stabbed in the legs)

I think our lenient justice system in Denmark is to blame, and maybe the slow pace of the political process. Changing laws take too long compared to the development in the society. If those doing the shooting and rioting are actually caught they will most likely be sentenced less than a year, while in other news from Denmark, a counterfeither just received two years for photocopying money bills.
I do however think deportations are a bad idea. The countries of origin of these young boys parents (or grandparents) have enough problems on their own without criminals grown in our part of the world. They are our problem and should be dealt with here.
Just think of the Danish murderer Peter Lundin who was deported from US to Denmark after having served only 8 years for killing his own mother. He later killed two small boys, something that would not have happened if he had not been deported instead of kept in jail.

You say that like we here in the US have somehow crafted an even quasi-logical immigration policy? Despite the fact that the only thing our two parties can agree on is that immigration policy is broken.

We don't need an immigration policy unless you believe in "they terk er jerbs!". The only bit of our policy that people bother about is the fact that brownies stream over the southern border.

Our primary focus should be on letting crazies in through our airports. We still let people through with questionable backgrounds because we have nowhere to put them.

Mexicans are the issue, that's why we have the border fence debate and drug trafficking debate and the medicare debate.

Police are in the process of arrests in Vollsmose

A large number of officers wearing bulletproof vests have been in action in Clearwater Beach at Vollsmose.

Six people have been arrested by police for unrest in the emergency room at Odense University Hospital and in Vollsmose Monday night.

"We have provisionally arrested six people, which we believe are related to what happened in Vollsmose and the hospital Monday night," says Jesper Feldt, duty officer at Funen Police Ritzau.

Different connection
Some of the men are believed to have been involved in the shooting early evening, while the other is believed to be related to unrest in the emergency department, said Deputy Commissioner Jack Liedecke.

Police would not elaborate on who the characters are, or where and how they are arrested.

A man was shot in the leg and stabbed in the second, and 60-70 men with batons tried later to find him in the emergency department in Odense.
