    Default A wish I have..

Something I've been thinking about since I started playing total war (been playing since Rome) is that since there can be a of corpses after a while why not make them have an impact on the battlefield? Like having a moral impact on units because of all the death around them or maybe even block them from marching on or atleast slow them down if there are enough corpses at one place

Yeah i made a thread about this, sort of, - corpses having collison(ie. soldiers would have to step over them, arrows would still be able to hit them etc) and i think that the wide opinion was that while it's nice, it's not really technically feasible unfortunately. Then again they could still have an effect on morale but that might prevent theese really long, epic battles because the moralepenalty would become so big at the end.

You could make it proportional to the number of soldiers in each side, so 10 corpses for a 100 man army would mean the same that 1000 corpses for a 10.000 man army, thus solving that problem.

I think the CPU power can better be used for more useful things.

Agreed. Unless if the game does support more cpu cores this time, then this feature should be in. I wouldnt mind having this as long as it doesnt affect the game negatively on the power too much. And i guess its realistic.

    This thread should be renamed.

Yea, but it would also give a pretty good tactical choice! If you let's say a siege and the enemie makes a breach at one place and then charges through there only to become arrow-fodder and then make a big pile of corpses. Then to charge there again would make it harder for the enemie because of the morale impact (and collision if possible). Maybe make some sort of counter that makes the morale impact to only strike if there are corpses of one one's team. Like a percentage meter. If there's a lot of enemie corpses: Morale boost for your soldier and morale drop for the enemie and wise versa.

In the heat of battle I doubt soldiers fighting would even notice the sheer amount of corpses lying about the field. A rather useless feature as well, since there will not be any permanent corpses on the battlefield for people with lower end PC's who have the settings lowered.

Well as a solider I'll tell you if I ever came to a engagement and saw a bunch of my fellow Countrymen bodies all over the place I would feel some type of way. Prob want to kill the enemy that much more, but if I saw an M1A1 destroyed on the field that might drop my moral a bit. Seeing as if they can up a tank what chance does my little truck have

On a more gory note, a Sarissa is useless with a corpse stuck on the end. I certainly recall using peasants as Javelin fodder with no consequences. On the campaign map perhaps high casualties coupled with little to no success could damage public order, and cause an army to mutiny! A large part of the effectiveness of a javelin was to render shields useless by hitting them and then the soft metal bending. If this could be replicated.. it would be awesome.

Corpses surrounding units are usually casualties, which sort of simulated the effect by losing morale due to losses.
