Battlefield commands

I hope they add a few new battlefield commands - like Hold formation. I'm pretty sure it was in STW/MTW but not Rome. A "Charge" command would also be useful

Yea were u group someof your men to front line..and then tell them to charge at the enemy in front of them..close to what happens in movies..i guess its also realistic, becuase pressing pause and then manually telling unit by unit to charge at the enemy front is annoying imo.

Hold formation in RTW was guard

EDIT: look at the ingame screenshot from this preview http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=35425 it shows that you have a guard command which is exactly like hold formation.

thanks - I was thinking about when I advance a unit to attack an enemy unit - thats when I want my unit to hold its formation. Doesn't the guard mode imply that your unit holds it ground (and formation) and waits for the enemy to engage?

No it simply commands them to not chase the enemy

Well it also tells them that, if a unit is standing still with guard on, and is attacked from behind for instance, the unit will stand still, hold formation, and the row of soldiers to the rear will turn around and fight (but still hold position).

BTW, I would also love a charge command. Kinda kills the excitement in the battles when, at the moment of charge, I have to pause the game and issue an order for every unit to attack. I mean, it's just one of those things that reminds you that you're playing a game, you know?

I always wanted a charge command its kinda annoying when you are playing a multi player game where there is no pause.
