Easiest faction

I'm about to start a campaign in BI for the first time. What is the easiest faction to be to get used to Hordes, and all the new abilities. I'm thinking about the Franks as I am an infantry genius.......But the horse archers scare me. So, what is the easiest faction. And no Huns...yet.

Franks are pretty easy. Best units of the infantry based barbarians.

The Eastern Roman Empire can be easy. It can make a nice chunk of change evey turn pretty quicly. Just focus on ports where you dont have them to build up your trade. Markets dont make money, ports make the most money out of all buildings.

Huns are by far the easiest horde faction. I hate them, but they are damn easy for sure

The Sassanids... it is not diffcult to play with them, there are no hordes nearby, you have very strong units (cibinarii, cataphracts, elephants... infantry is also ok). And you start in a good place

This guy is right on. They also have the strongest relgion (Zoastrism has conversion from academies) and the potential for silk roads. Second in faction potential only to ERE but much easier to play as. Clibnari also loads of fun to use. Won't get you used to hordes though, I do not beleive you will ever face a horde until you start conquering western europe when WRE falls (always happens if you play as non-ERE faction.)

I don't know why, but Frank could be pretty easy if you play in the "right" way - that means, horde in the beginning and march into any place YOU think is safe, probably Britain. In the same time, keep asking money from WRE. Pretty awesome when you see money keep comming to your pockect.

Only way to get used to hordes is WRE. Others can usually just put an army on the bridge and keep hordes off their lands but as WRE I had to fight 4 hordes on the same time while I still didn't have a really well working economy and everyone I had a border with were fighting me

+ a few hordes after that

. Maybe that was because of vh/h difficulty. Anyway I won tho

I played as the celts not to long ago and thought they were pretty easy, but you have to take ALL of England and then move over to take the Saxons so they dont get to you first.

As the ERE I pretty much abandoned that part of the empire with no buildings to retake and exterminate the rebellious idiots. Unfortunately the Sassanids took it first and I'm now royally screwed.

stupid sassies.... they are so boring. my ere campaign wiped them out. if you wanna play a fun + easy campaign, try the saxons. they are fun, and on lower difficulties very easy. ere tho, their campaign is addicitve. wow. plumbers= awesome!

The Saxons are too easy. Nobody really bothers them, unless you try to take on the WRE early in on the mainland rather than in Britain. Personally, I like to use an all-factions mod and play as the Slavs. But I'm strange that way....

most easy to play for the first time are huns (many soldiers), franks (strong units) or saxons (nobody bothers)

This is offtopic, but could you answer or somebody else?
What all faction-mod? Where I can download it? And does it work if I have Darth mod installed?
