Ok Do you think joan the arc will be in this game? For someone who doesnt know she is , she is a french general who helped france fight off the english.

Obviously. She was in Medieval I, just like other countless historical figures in the Middle Ages.

She should only appear if the English have taken x amount of French provinces. Otherwise its just stupid to have her as a General.
The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be used until they try and take it away.Staff Officer of Corporal_Hicks in the Legion of Rahl
Commanding Katrina, Crimson Scythe, drak10687 and Leonidas the Lion
In the battle field she will appear as a girl or just full armoured plate cant see the face ?
Good question. I would assume that there will be several models for generals, one with a covered face. They'll probably use that

if they do the army she is commanding should get a huge morale boost because some of the french thought that she talked to gabrial i think plus they should make her unit not fight because even though she had a sword ( which people thought was the sword of charlamange) she didnt want to fight
Fat cats will rule the world.
She shouldnt be any better than any other commander.
TW sets the stage, as soon as you touch one bit of the campaign map you have altered history.
I dont want to be conquering france and get wtf pwned by some army just becuase some chick is leading them.
Same with william wallace, or that spanish one... el cid.
Let the game randomly attribute virtues to the commanders, keeps it fresh and interesting.
Also stops french players from just teching until they get her (assuming she did have a bonus)...
No TW game should be the same as another, we deserve random leaders with random stats.
you see, at certain occupation stage (ie sooner or later) a man (or a woman) would anyway appear... I dunno if your country was under occupation but from our bitter experience I can tell that an occupied nation is in need of heroes, and as DesCarte said " if there wouldn't be any god, people would invent one" that can not be more true when speeking of occupation, so you see Jean D'Arc would appear in any case. Maybe it would not be a "virgin from Lorraine" but some kind of "saviour" will deffinetly arise.Originally Posted by Knight_Yellow

Tell me exactly who heroicaly rose to lead their beleagured nation to victory in these occasions.
France, any other war besides napoleon's or arc's.
Palestine.
Isreal.
Poland.
Germany.
Sweden.
Chzetnia.
Iran.
Iraq.
Tibet.
Red indians.
Africa's many many nations.
all the countries the mongols attacked.
etc. etc. etc.
You seem to have some belief that just becuase some mentaly handicapped woman lead a bunch of frenchmen to victory but ultimately failed... then every nation must have some uber saviour waiting to do the same.
Theres far more occassions in history where the weaker nation got owned... simple as.
There is absolutely no reason as to why france should get a pre determined uber general, or any nation for that matter.
By your opinion... wich is just that... an opinion... no nation on earth can possibly ever loose a war because there are some set of magical rules that dictate a hero will come and wtfpwn the invader.
I don't think that was quite what DesCartes meant :hmmm:Originally Posted by Giurza

I agree with Knight_Yellow, and what's to say a randomly generated general might just be the savior of France in a game?
What he said. In one game in MTW, I played as the Germans in the early period. A peasant general named Philip von Balk became the savior of the Holy Roman Empire during the violent and bloody Imperial Civil War. He married the crown princess, the lone daughter of the Emperor, and became Emperor himself.Originally Posted by Aule the Smith

U should be able to use here as some super general for like 5 years, after that she will be burned.
Maybe like in MTW, you know, where if you look into the files, heroes will appear at certain time intervals, basically just a commander of units with somewhat uber stats, or a family member, who happened to have the right name and number of a historically famous person.

I care little for Jeanne d'Arc, give me El Cid!

El Cid was so much cooler than she could ever hope to be and should be around at the start date.

MY TWC HISTORY
I don't know why you hate Jean de Arc so much.
In fact, without she nothing could change in France. But te fact that burgundians left the English alliance, served French cause just as Joan did. She inspired a nation which was broken. Of course she disn't massacred the english in thousands, as she was just a peasent girl, but a very unique one. Charisma is important thing in a battle.
After all, the french nobility could now not refuse to take the war seriously, even a girl set them into shame!
I think also hat in time of great need heroes often come. Although many times they are just not successfull as Joan was. But great need makes greast heroes, some people are just inspirated by difficulties, or lost all they have, and so decide to fight till the bitter end.
I think it is just to allow the french player to possess Joan (or rather Bertrand de Guesclin)if English occupy great parts from France.
Otherwise no Joan. Just as scotts will have Wallace, etc. It would be great seeing famous people among our generals, like William Marshall, John Talbot, Rainald of Dassel, etc.
Now, Yellow_Knight, I am not sure which time periods you are talking about when you ask me od the reference concerning all those nations, but I will try to counter.
Palestine
Israel Moshe Dayan (if you speaking of Roman times, I am unsure, but there is only one written source from that rebellion and I haven't read that)
Slaves Spartacus (and many more whoes names are lost to the time)
Scotland you know it yourself
Switzerland William Tell (feel free to attack this one, 'cos I am not acquainted with his story)
Sweden (what the hell do you mean... Sweden was NEVER occupied)
anyways, it shows that in quite many (not all off course) cases there is such a person. which is not necesserelly AN UBER GENERAL, as you put it.
and I am not voting for those persons to be unbeatable generals. they just have to have a major boost to the troops moral, provided as long as they WIN.
p.s.
they hate Jean D'Arc because they've got their asses kicked by the girl... and that is still a painful fact even after so much time...
cheers Englishmen!![]()
