Default The Wedding of Magnus z Lotrinske and Catherine of Naples

The Marriage of Magnus z Lotrinske and Catherine of Naples

Today, upon the eighteenth day of August, in the 1372nd since the birth of Christ, the marriage of two great nobles is to take place at Prague Castle, ancestral home of the z Lotrinske family, in the Duchy of Bohemia. Magnus z Lotrinske, Duke of Bohemia and Elector of the Empire is to be wedded to Catherine of Naples, daughter of Joan I, Queen of Naples. This day marks the joining of Bohemian House of z Lotrinske, a family with direct ties to the Kings of Bohemia and Capetian House of Anjou-Naples, whose ancient Frankish blood flows through the very veins of Joan and Catherine. The entire z Lotrinske family, relatives and direct members of Magnus gather on the left side of the altar. Those of the Anjou-Naples branch, various relatives from Sicily, Naples and even from France arrive, led by Her Royal Highness, Queen Joan of Naples, gathered on the right side of the altar. The Archbishop of Prague, Arnold II von Boleslav, a man of notable character and piety, is to precede over the matrimony between the two noble souls as God's servant. Frederick z Lotrinske, Magnus' brother, welcomes all guests to the wedding.

All are welcomed to come and post!

A magnicent carriage, guarded by 50 Gothic Knights, drives through the streets of Prague. The citizens are amazed by the sight of them as they drive up to the castle. As they stop, 20 Gothic Knights stands in a two-line-formation behind the carrige and 20 at the front. 10 knights unmounts their horses and stands in two rows on each side of the door to the carriage. The door opens and a man walks out. Some recognise him as Lodewijk de Vries, Adviser of the Kaiser. He takes a few steps and proclaims:

His Imperial Majesty, Kaiser Heinrich VIII of the Holy Roman Empire and his spouse, Kaiserin Rebecka, has arrived.

After Lodewijk announces this, steps the Kaiser out of the carriage with his spouse by his side. As they walk into the castle, accompanied by Lodewijk, does the Gothic Knights a salute to the Kaiser before leaving. They walk into the castle and take a seat.

A man walks inside the cathedral, with a bodyguard alongside him. He walks over to Frederick to give his introduction.
Greetings. Alexander of Firenze accompanied by my adviser and bodyguard, Severus Brooks.

The Archbishop enters from the side doors, with wearing splendid robes of white and purple.

Frederick notices the man and gestures to a few pews in the middle of St. Vitus Cathedral.

The arrival of the Kaiser was both expected and unexpected. The z Lotrinske family bowed to the Emperor as he was shown to a proper seat in the front of the cathedral. The immediate family of Magnus...which included his two sisters, Anna and Marie II, his brother Frederick and his mother, Maria I. The Duke was nowhere in sight for now as the noble was giving his last prayers to God in the back room before finishing up with getting dressed for the occasion.

Toddric enters the Cathedral, he is adorned in his nicest silken garb, beatifully colored, and the shine of the gold rings, and his chain slung down his neck. He takes his seat in the front row, as befits his Imperial status

Magnus, who had appeared quietly from his room, came forth in his best clothing befitting his noble ranks within the Empire. The Bohemian approached the altar awaiting for his bride, Catherine, to be brought forth. He was rather nervous...marrying into the Capetian family of Anjou-Naples, a bloodline that can be traced back to King Louis VIII of France, also known as King Louis the Lion, through his son, Charles I of Sicily. It felt like an honor and a privilege to be married into such a prestigious family.

Moments later, Catherine of Naples is seen being escorted by her stepfather, James IV of Majorca, the third husband of Queen Joan. She seemed rather nervous when being escorted, but the smile of both her future husband and her stepfather helped reassure the young lady. She is brought before the Archbishop alongside Magnus as they both kneel before the servant of God.

Karl arrives, not willing to miss the wedding of his future brother in law. He takes a seat near the front of the room.

Count Zalbaag, arriving shortly after the Kaiser, takes a seat behind the family of the betrothed. Clad in his chain mail armor with an elegant shortsword at his side and the red Griffin of his house woven into the fabric of his cloak, Zalbaag watched the procession with longing eyes, wondering of he would ever find a fitting bride to wed. Hoping his house did not die with him.

After a long ceremony, the Archbishop announces.
I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.

Magnus stands and moves the veil of his beautiful wife, Catherine z Lotrinske. He smiles at her and kisses her now as both families stand and clap...the z Lotrinskes and Anjous were now united as one through the marriage of these two noble souls.
