Default Alleged Gay rights attack Conservative think thank with handgun - Wound 2

Two people, including a security guard, were reportedly shot this morning at the headquarters of the pro-life group Family Research Council.

According to information provided to LifeNews from a Washington pro-life source, a man posing as an intern shot the guard at the FRC office located at 801 G Street, NW.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins confirmed the security officer was shot and said in a statement, “The police are investigating this incident. Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.”

The guard is conscious and breathing.

    http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/15/s...-headquarters/
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the shooter walked into the lobby of the building at about 10:45 and was confronted by the security guard as if the guard was asking him where he was going.

The man then took out a gun and opened fire on the guard, Lanier said. The guard and others wrestled the man to the ground, disarmed him and waited for police, she said. The guard was then taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, the chief said.

The shooter is in FBI custody and has not yet been charged, authorities said.

“The security guard here is a hero, as far as I’m concerned,” Lanier said. ”He did his job. The person never made it past the front.”

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...40a0_blog.html
(AP) WASHINGTON – A man suspected of shooting and wounding a security guard in the lobby of a Christian lobbying group had been volunteering at a community center for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/08/1...n-lgbt-center/

Another official says the shooter made a negative reference about the work of the Family Research Council before opening fire.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-...ard/?tag=socsh
The suspect had a bag from ''Chick-fil-A'', a company that was the center of controversy when its CEO voiced opposition to gay marriage.

This is the fruit of the apocalyptic and self-righteous rhetoric the proponents of the Gay movement use in their debates against Conservatives, which are painted as such devils that people like this shooter just decide that taking a gun is just what needs to be done.

It is time that that leftist drop their hateful rhetoric against Conservatives on the issue of Gay marriage, and it is ironic that despite all the babbling about violent Tea Party people people in the last 2 years we got a violent LGBT fanatic terrorist.

The investigation is still in course, and it seems that the FBI might brand this one as domestic terrorists.

Should the left tone down the rhetoric ?

“Floyd Corkins was responsible for the wounding of one our colleagues and one of my friends yesterday here at the Family Research Council, but I believe he was given a license by a group such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, who, as you pointed out earlier, labeled us a hate group because we defend the family and we stand for traditional, orthodox Christianity,” Perkins said on Fox News. “It’s time for people to realize what the Southern Poverty Law Center is doing with their reckless labeling of organizations who they disagree with.”

In this case I couldn't agree more. This isn't the first time homosexuals have lashed out at the heterosexual community and it certainly will not be the last.

Here is only one example of a militant gay group responsible for acts of violence.

Are you suggesting uninvolved people somehow share responsibility for this because of their sexuality?

Not until the right does. It's hate filled rhetoric and calls for 'bullet box' democracy got a response...just not the one it was expecting. This man should be jailed for his actions, but his fear at what the Christian Fundamentalists want is justified, they are the most murderous and hate filled ideology to emerge in a western nation in decades.

Plus given the hundreds of murders by pro-life terrorists over the years, killing doctors and LBGT people at will, the hypocrisy of calling for the rhetoric to be toned down while still preaching that all gays and people who work at 'aborturies' deserve death is a bit rich. No book ever written is more hate filled than the bible, it's proponents have no leg to stand on about another's speech.

So, that's how many dozen 'leftists' dead with no let up in the hate spewing from the right..but two injured and suddenly the left has to be silent? Hardly.

    • 2008 -- Scott Graham, popular community activist and interior designer, was murdered at his home in West Palm Beach. Graham helped launch the Palm Beach Human Rights Council in 1988.
    • 2007 -- Donald Young was shot to death in his Chicago home. He was choir director and deacon at Trinity United Church of Christ in the city. The church is associated with the candidacy of Barack Obama; Young was a personal friend of Obama's.
    • 2007 -- Robin Malta, community organizer and grand marshal of Southern Decadence, was beaten to death in his New Orleans home. Local gay media mentioned his death as part of a wave of anti-gay violence in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Southern Decadence is a long-standing target of anti-gay religionists in the South.
    • 2006 -- Humanitarian and AIDS activist Emery Lane, MD, was beaten to death in his home in Louisville, KY. Retired, he had been a University of Louisiana medical-school professor. In this case, his activist reputation had drawn an ex-convict, whom Lane befriended and helped -- who later brought in a confederate to help him murder Lane.
    • 2005 -- Brooklyn student Rashawn Brazell was gruesomely murdered in Brooklyn. His dismembered body parts, showing signs of torture, were found in garbage bags all over the borough. Only 19, Rashawn was out to his family, had already done work with homeless people, and was aiming for a career in medical administration and service to the needy. His still-unsolved murder was widely publicized.
    • 2005 -- Wanda Alston was a NOW board member and director of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Affairs, a cabinet-level post in the mayor's office in Washington D.C. She was stabbed to death in her home.
    • 2004 -- Henser Leiva, a Miami gay activist, researcher and nightclub performer, was found bound and beaten to death in his home. The case is still unsolved.
    • 2004 -- Well-known college professor Morgan Lewis, an openly gay native American, was found shot to death outside the faculty building on Northern State U. campus in Aberdeen, S.D. Crime still unsolved.
    • 2002 -- Knoxville activist Joseph Camber was beaten and strangled by Chad Allen Conyers in Tennessee. Camber had been a president of Knoxville Pride, and worked with HIV/AIDS patients. His murder had such an impact in Tennessee that it inspired the start-up of Pink Pistols, an organization of gun-owning gays that now has chapters in at least 31 states.
    • 2001 -- Georgia assistant district attorney Ahmed Dabarran was found beaten to death in his apartment. In the Georgia activist community, the Dabarran case still festers today because the "gay panic" defense got acquittal for killer Roderiqus Reshad Reed.
    • 1999 -- Transgender activist Tacy Ranta was shot to death on a Baltimore street. She was co-founder of TranQuility, a Baltimore transgender support group, as well as a prominent figure in the transgender advocacy group It's Time America. Ranta also lobbied for hate-crime bills.

The list extends back into the past, and includes:

    • 1994 -- activist Jon Simmons was found murdered in West Hollywood, CA. He was a prominent Chicagoan and city-government liaison to the gay community there. His body was left in a dark alley, with an execution-style gunshot wound to the head. Simmons and his brother had been on an vacation visit to Los Angeles. Another cold case, that a few L.A. detectives are still working on.
    • 1991 -- Paul Broussard, popular Houston banker, was assaulted, beaten and stabbed to death by 10 youths in a parking lot in his Montrose neighborhood -- one of the few murder cases to get national publicity, because of the mob-violence circumstances.

Funny how the media just speculates on the motives and reports on it to bring more attention to this beaten like a dead horse Chik-fil-a issue.

The gun man had a Chik-fil-a bag in his car and yelled something about the think thank stance on gay rights before opening fire.

So it is not really speculation, speculation is when people try to make Jared and Holmes into Tea Party activists hours after the shooting and without any proof.

So because the man had a fast food bag in his car and yelled something that we don't even know what he said and apparently nobody remembers, you're willing to let yourself be convinced that he was some politically motivated, gun wielding, non-gay gay rights terrorist? Because I'm assuming if you had more evidence supporting your claims you would have brought it out by now.

Only managed to slightly wound the security guard before being disarmed?

    This guy was definitely gay.

Should the left tone down the rhetoric? Of course. Should the right do so as well? Some elements, of course. There are moderates on both sides of the coin, the left is just far louder than the ones on the right since there's a stigma placed on having conservative views in the mainstream media (and many places on the internet too).

In a few news articles I've read, the Chick-fil-a supporters filled the restaurants and there were lines at pretty much any location you went to. Then came the kiss-in. The kiss in failed to even fill the interior of the restaurant. No lines, no major crowds. Maybe a few locations saw people turn up for the kiss-in, but the fact the papers labeled it "assorted" screams an overwhelmingly vocal minority.

Another shooting in America... nothing unusual here.

Maybe if everyone in the place was armed the shooter would of been shot before he wounded the guard. Just maybe. Hell maybe if drivers were armed the shooter would never have made it out of his car.

Or he doesnt have the killer instinct. Its not easy to point the gun at a human and pull the trigger. In the military they train soldiers to shoot other humans by degrading the enemy and making them sound less than human.

It's always the left that tries to kill people, destroy property, and infringe the rights of others. Always.

so that list of dozens of murders I linked by right wing fanatics was a mirage? Or was it not 'violence' because they where Christians, but rather religious observance?

If I remember correctly the Democratic Party supported desegregation and the Republican Party supported segregation. Of course I could be wrong. You found 1 example of a Southern Democrat supporting racism before the Southerners left the DNC and joined the GOP.
