DirectX 9.0c

It is a problem with DX9c that many have been suffering from, some fixed this probem by using their XP disc..but unfortunatly i dont have one...the guy who sold me the computer already installed it..so i really need help in this..ill describe my problem:

When i click on any DX9c exe (no matter where it comes from, a game CD, download..etc) i get the same problem..the install takes less than a second and it tells me i have installed DirectX 9.0c succesfully...but when i click on Imperial Glory or 3ds MAX 7 it tells me that Direct X 9.0c is not installed, when i go to dxconfig it tells me my DX is updated to 9.0b, please i really need help on this one..i dont have an XP disc...so any solution?

help would be greatly apreciated!

Just download the offline-installation package.

Didnt work..when i install it it takes a bit more than the last less than a sec thing..the new file takes about 4 seconds..but when it says copying files it barely copies anything and finishes the setup..to just try if it works i opened the 3dsmax installation exe but it tells me it needs directx 9.0c or more to work! Please help me..i need direct x 9.0c to work..
