Default I have a very difficult question that may not get answered

The question is if anyone know what the best setting in SSīs setup option and the in game difficulty is if i want to achive the following:
I want most countries to stay intact with and not get exterminated by a few overpowered factions that take over the entire world

In my current main save almuhads, genoa, hungary and the fatimids have most of the map... im playing byzantium ahave have greece and turkey under my command but im concidering quitting since its soooo booring to just fight more or less 4 factions... every other faction has so few settlements compared to these ones

I play very hard Battle very hard Campaign with savage AI, Longer assimilation & permanent watchtowers

You could try Lusted AI, but I think still the longer you play its eventualy going to be whittled down to a few powerful nations.

It depends on the campaign, as no doubt different play-throughs will go differently. It isn't unusual for a number of factions to grow powerful, and since you will become more powerful as the game progresses (Byg's Grim Reality V players the exception ), these superpowers can serve as a check on your conquests. Just think about it - wouldn't it be even more boring if all AI factions remained at modest strength while you grew into the sole superpower?

Im not going for a take over the world type gameplay im mainly wanting to play immensley difficult battles and campaigns without having to rely on superpowers to give me the challenge, its not really the number of stacks faced against me that im after from a huge superpower but more those decisive and difficult battles (YES i just more or less quoted CAīs Rome 2 announcement there )

My main goal right now as byzantium is more of a conquest of the old roman empire and holding it, not taking over the entire world, id rather have loads of factions attacking my empire instead of just a few ones

Well, you might want to assist other factions in their conflicts then from time to time, gifting money and capturing settlements (then gifting them to the faction you believe is the rightful owner). You could consider yourself a referee.

Try BGR V, it adds a whole new element to the game. Read the manual first tho :p

In addition to this, try to blitz the campaign map on your first attempt, or maybe even second or third after you've gotten used to the different rules, constraints, and nuances of BGR V. With any luck, that oughta put down any concerns of pushover AI. It probably won't eliminate superpowers emerging, but you can be sure the AI will put up one hell of a fight whether you are turtling or blitzing.

*Although I keep recommending it, I haven't actually played BGR V itself yet, only BGR IV-E (the E stands for 'Enhanced'). This is because the late SS campaign irks me and I've got a large submod in the works to fix all the different issues I have, but I'm only bothering with all that work because of the huge amount of effort Byg has put into making the game a lot harder (BGR IV-E was the reason I came back to M2).

As the guy above says, Lusted AI work well for me at that.

I enjoy the new SSMAP submod, i find its made the game better. But im playing as france and i seem to be a bit overpowered at the moment, dont know if thats due to them being in a fairly good position economically, but ive also pplayed a campaign or two with georgia and it was quitee difficult having no money.

I wanted to use the SSMAP submod to but i was not sure if it would conflict with "My new Komnenian/Khwaraz Unit Roster" by Caudillo87, im also using "Late Knights Sub Mod (Retexture)" by Baraban
