Massive problem "This Game is Currently Unavailable"

Hi and thanks for reading my post, i am a very big total war fan, i tryed modding around a month ago using a steam version of M2TW+Kingdoms, and it failed, after getting sick of trying repeatedly to get mods to work, i didnt even bother uninstalling them in the end, and tryed stacking another mod upon a mod, just because i desperately wanted it to work.

then ofcourse, it didnt work still and i decided to delete all of the mod files, tryed launching my game and it says "This Game is Currently Unavailable" (Application Running)" so ive tryed reinstalling the game over 5 times, ive tryed revalidating the files and even tryed reinstalling steam alltogether, and i just get the same problem. Everytime i try to revalidate my game files, it says 1 file needed validating, if i do it again straight after, it says 1 file needed validating, so im sure all of this trouble is just because of 1 file.

can anybody help me on fixing this problem? im pulling my hair out here because im a major fan of mainly medieval 2 total war and im desperate to play, Thanks people

Delete both Medieval II Total War folders, then reinstall, and hopefully this works.

hey thanks for your reply, ive tryed manually deleting both medieval 2 total war folders, didn't work.

Delete both folders, run a good, free registry cleaner, then try it.

tryed that too, using CCleaner to clean the registry, still no result.

(is there anyway i can manually delete the registrys in regedit?, maybe that would fix the problem)

Can you end and restart Steam? You might have to CTRL+ALt+DEL, go to processes, and end Steam manually.

ive reinstalled steam and it doesnt make a differance.

doesn't help as i cant find steam to access medieval 2 total war via regedit, thanks though

Assuming Vista or Win 7, you need to be logged in as Administrator and have unhidden all files folders and drives in Folder Options to see a lot of this stuff.

cleared my registry through regedit, reinstalling now and hoping for the best lol

Have you tried changing servers?
Have you tried deleting both .blob files in the Steam folder?

In Regedit, ctrl-f steam,

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\9C8928403D4AB094F99FBA20A329833F

was the first registry key it pulled up. Now, I don't have medieval2 on Steam, this is for ETW and S2, but i put in medieval ii total war and I got four entries in a hurry. You can also search for the mods you installed the same way.

ive tryed deleting the blob file, wasnt aware there was 2 that can be deleted though, dont get what you mean by changing servers

Ah ive tryed that before sorry, however ive just deleted the other blob file after reinstalling the game again and have tryed launching and it still comes up with the same problem : "This Game is Currently Unavailable" (Application Running)", but everytime i try to revalidate the files now, it doesnt say it has validated 1 file like it did before, it says all files successfully validated.

its nothing to do with my PC, it only started occuring after i attempted to use mods
