The Villa Servii has been a prominent landmark of the northern face of rome for a little over 6 decades, only falling to Titus very recently. It is marked with a small, training building where training implements and weapons are kept, a blacksmith, a stable, a dining hall, and the main manor. It is the Home of the Princeps, and his wife, son, son's wife, and son's son and daughter.

"Well, I wish to really gain a sound understanding of the goings on in Rome this year, to get a sound grasp of politics. I also wondered what the true extent/limit of being a tribune is. I know the basic stuff, but beyond that, I do not know what my position is capable of."
"Tribune, while a minor position, has vast powers. The veto can stop any action or discussion that is going on in the Curia or elsewhere. You can bring laws up for a vote in the Concilia Plebis. You can protect a person from trial no matter if he is guilty. And a few more. But you should always being working on the side of the people of Rome, the plebeians. " Quintus sat.
"As for Rome, there are a few factions. Plebeians, patricians, conservative , traditional... None are overly powerful as of yet.. "

I take it that Vetoing anything will not make me the most popular to that senator and/or group of senators? Yes, I will always be for the people, and planned on being no less. That is one of the key values taught to me by my mentor, Quintus Servius. What group do you hold interest in, or can a censor afford such bias?
After taking a sip of wine, Valerius replies.
"I am a man who upholds the law while keeping Rome, and the citizens of Rome, at the forefront of his ideals. Dignitas, auctoritas, and honor and what I live by. As foe vetoing, it is never very popular in the Senate."

"I can see why.. Can't say I fully agree with the threat to veto any negotiations with the Mauritanians. We are losing that war, and so need to accept our losses, build up again, and retake what has been lost with a certainty of victory."
"Yes, who knows what terms would have been offered. If it meant we had Carthage under our control it probably would have been worth it. So is there anything you wish to accomplish this year?"

"Certainly," Quintus smiled. "Invest in your farms and trade, you never know when the state might need them. Also do not be afraid to use the Rostra. Show the people that you care." Quintus finished off his wine.
"Well I just wanted to introduce myself formally to you Senator and make you feel comfortable so that you could stop by anytime you needed.'"
