Campaign map laggin bad (moving really slow) when moving around with camera.

My PC is a monster in many ways. Good graphic and lala. So it's not hardware. The problem:
When ever i move around (using the camera not units) on the campaign map it lages really bad (lag by it moving / reacting very slowly), and if I click a random place on the map it sometimes takes 4 sec for it to load. I have tried changing the graphic setting to the very lowest, but no difference.
Any ideas ? Tried reinstalling the whole game, but the problem is still there. I have played the game on another computer (pretty bad one) and the campaign map doesn't lag in the same way.

I'm using a steam version but for other versions it's the same. I have a GTX 560 TI
and I have defragged my comp and I know that Rome Total war only uses on core..
So help

Hey,

I don't really think you can do something about that, except for setting your graphics on lowest (or playing it on an old pc).
It's known that the game lags if you're playing on a greater pc. (The game is about 8 years old, hey what did you expect?) Some people can barely play it anymore...

Its not a hardware problem mate, activision even admitted it was a software fault and they improved it slightly with a patch. So make sure you're patched up to the latest version. It improves it slightly but, its still noticible. I wouldn't worry about it much since the campaign map is not somewhere fast action happens so you dont need high FPS. They took notice and this problem dosn't exist in MTW2.
