Laggin/ slow cameramovement on the campaign map. Help !

My PC is a monster in many ways. Good graphic and lala. So it's not hardware. The problem:
When ever i move around (using the camera not units) on the campaign map it lages really bad (lag by it moving / reacting very slowly), and if I click a random place on the map it sometimes takes 4 sec for it to load. I have tried changing the graphic setting to the very lowest, but no difference.
Any ideas ? Tried reinstalling the whole game, but the problem is still there. I have played the game on another computer (pretty bad one) and the campaign map doesn't lag in the same way.

I'm using a steam version but for other versions it's the same. I have a GTX 560 TI
and I have defragged my comp and I know that Rome Total war only uses on core..
So help

How are you supposed to say it's not hardware?

How many cores you got (as if this were important for rtw)?

How much ram do you have (remember more than 2 rtw can't handle and basically anything from that era can't)?

Which features of your GTX 560 being used by games where your pc is a
monster in many way which did not even exist in year 2005 so rtw can't
be blamed for not using those features?

OK those were just the eye-opening questions - now when you're down to our
level - let's get serious - are you probably using a wireless mouse?
