They said their line-up for Gamescom was Rome II and Sonic Racing Transformed.

So yeah, ROME II is gonna be there, but the question is: Will we see anything or its just behind closed doors media briefings and what not.

Next week; starting from August 15th to the 17th.

I'm hoping for a pre-alpha gameplay video, but they're more likely to showcase concept art and screenshots.

Craig laycock Said on twitter that they were Going to "display the carthage demo to a wider press audience" so no i don't think we are going to see any video - imo it's for the better they dont display the game in such an early stage.

I do think it's a good idea that they don't give out too much gameplay video to a wider audience, especially with the internet hyping that happens (why do the graphics look so bad? HUR?! What does pre-alpha mean? HERP!) But I would like to get a few more details about what we can expect, in terms of gameplay structure on the campaign level, especially some clarification on army structure and recruitment.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

One more time, its only a buisness presentation.

Edit: So sorry, my post was my post needs an update:

ORIGINAL from Gamescom Website/ Google Translate

Sega had canceled the original Gamescom 2012. After restructuring in Europe office in Germany was closed. But Sega has this country come from Koch Media in and there are still one or the other Sega titles at the Gamescom. So you can play Rome 2 TW on the Koch Media place....
Sega also shows behind closed doors in the business sector (not for privat persons) and Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed (not public)
    Aliens: Colonial Marines (not public)
    Total War: Rome II

i was checking that link and it appears to be edited.
right now the article states pretty clearly that rome 2 totap war will NOT be showcased in any way on gamescom 2012 despite all internet rumours which are wrong.
thats what they say but they state in the beginning that they dont claim to have complete and/or perfectly correct information

Rome 2 is NOT coming out on consoles, atleast for a very long time. I think Russel said it in the Eurogamer interview.

Yeah i see it at the moment:

All the rumors about Aliens and Total War: Rome II are circulating on the net are wrong. Both titles are not represented at the Gamescom.

Well i follow Craig Laycock on twitter and he's never said anything other that they are going to be at gamescom with rome2, also stuff like "just packed for gamescom" etc, i highly doubt they would first say No, then Yes, and now No again.

I don't know if JPGames can be trusted. It does say "Both titles are not represented at the Gamescom." and crosses them over. If it meant they were for business sector only, I guess it wouldn't be crossing their names but just saying (not for public) next to it.
CA staff twitters are more reliable I think. It was already stated by Craig that the demo is in the business sector, for media, not for public.

I'm pretty sure he did say it.

Twitter Tip 1. If you really wan't to follow (stalk) someone. Create a search column (Use TweetDeck or MetroTwit) and search for @<username> OR from:<username>

I think you missunderstood something. Rome 2 is on the Gamescom, but only on buisness Presentation section (Hall 5), not for public. That was until yesterday the current.
Now i read about these news yesterday:

Sega had canceled the original Gamescom 2012. After restructuring in Europe office in Germany was closed. But Sega has this country come from Koch Media in and there are still one or the other Sega titles at the Gamescom. So you can play Rome 2 TW on the Koch Media place....

Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed (not public)
    Aliens: Colonial Marines (not public)
    Total War: Rome II
And today was the update on the webside

All the rumors about Aliens and Total War: Rome II are circulating on the net are wrong. Both titles are not represented at the Gamescom.
So everything stays the same, rome 2 remains only a buisness presentation.

We are at Gamescom, but showing Rome 2 to media behind closed doors in the business centre - so we won't have a show floor presence. That said, I will be wandering about so if anyone spots me, please do feel free to say hi!

So when I said on Twitter "we're showing to selected wider media partners", that's what I meant.

It's understandable why media is shown the demo and not the public - media can write about it to raise the interest, while the demo may not be ready to be seen by public. Doesn't make it less annoying though. I wish they released it for media and public at the same time. Some guy from some magazine who probably hasn't put in a single hour in any total war game gets to see it first hand while the rest of us just sit guessing "Will I see some info today? Or perhaps even a screen-shot tomorrow?". Boring.
