For what I understand,Google from now on will filtrate information,in this case is with piracy excuse,it means only to please entertainment industry. In the future will please all the unpleased economic sectors or governments?

Free forever, because no one wants the whole world to turn into Mordor aka Middle East

Um, anybody who thinks Google is some sort of slavish appeaser of the entertainment industry has a very narrow experience of the matter. Google's blog announcement makes it clear the change is so that people find the most legitimate content available - i.e. if you search for a music video, a video posted by the artist themselves will now be higher in the rankings.

Importantly, Google isn't filtering results. Merely adjusting how they are ranked.

In 50 years, we'll tell our children of how the zionists tried to limit our every freedom on the Internet, but that we defeated them before they could succeed! By awakening everybody!

I'm shocked, really. I mean on the Mudpit? No way. Nobody EVER jumps to just assuming something totally innocuous means something infinitely more sinister.

Here's a helpful hint kiddies. If anyone ever uses the phrase "Zionist" in a sentence in a non-ironic or sarcastic way, you stop taking anything they say even remotely seriously. At all.

Yes, luckily such instances are very, very rare in the Mudpit.

I'm against intellectual propery from a legal standpoint, but this seems like a way of figthing piracy without resorting to the use of force, so I support it I suppose. Man, being both a creator and a libertarian is hard sometimes.

Unless there is a major change in governments the way you mean won't be true. It is possible of course, but that beyond the scope of the internet to say the least.

But in a way you are right, because in 50 years people will have figured out how to maximally monetize the internet, just not the way you mean.

In a Friday morning blog post, Google said it will change its search algorithm next week to take into account “the number of valid copyright removal notices” it receives for any site. High rates of removal notices are likely to drop a site down in the search results, which Google says “should help users find legitimate, quality sources of content more easily.”

    Luckily, Google owns Youtube.

But people already know where is the illegal content, and there are more search engines, google just lose popularity when they deliberately hide some information, today that's only a crack tomorrow could be anything.

TPB will still be on the first page.

They're not hiding anything. They're pushing official sources up the rankings because these are likely to be more relevant. More relevancy probably means more customer satisfaction, not less.

Patents and copyright are to protect the interests of the creator, not IP trolls; there should be an absolute limit on the duration, not lifetime plus seventy years, somewhere between seven and twenty depending on the item.
