Pocktio versus The Ungodly Horse Based Devils

Ok I'm looking for some tips on how to combat Kwarezmianananananana, however you spell it, doomstacks.

I've consistently lost my outer provinces to them, Hungary and...France (fuuuu Crusades) but I have a very strong economy and just unlocked the first late tier units (Scholaroi, the...white guys and flamers) and have full heitarie (fuuu spelling for this faction makes me sad) facilities.

So I can form lovely armies, which can murderatify Kwarzy stacks in siege defense (Mourtai stakes!) but obviously this is not ideal, or at all glorious enough for me. I can just about beat a full stack of the usual Ghulam/Royal Guard/5-6 bodyguards but it's tiresome and costs me so many units my army is in dire need of resupply and replacement within 1-2 battles. Whereas they, seemingly, have infinite doomhorse stacks.

I am not 100% crap at this game, but I was wondering if anyone had any strategies or army compositions I could try?

I usually go for a core of spears, with the yellow shield/other Roman heavy infantry and mourtai archers. I supplement with the light cavalry, as I was getting pestered by denmark but they are largely useless against the heavy cavalry I face. I've added horse archers, but the armour of the enemy horse is quite high and the heavy cavalry I have seems lacking in either ability or number (Scholaroi horse are likely good enough to trounce them but I can only recruit one at a time).

So...any tips?

Fight them across bridges and trap them with spears if possible. Also Try to Go for hill battles and get the high ground. Have many archers peppering volley after volley as they climbing. Spears and heavy infantry waiting for them is nice, but you could also split some of them up and pin them where they can't easily escape. Use light cavalry to lure them where need be; but Khwarezm has superior cavalry, so you need to rely on your tough infantry more than any other units.

Also, from the units you named, I assume youre playing as Romans?
If so... their Generals bodygaurds are about the best in the game I think. So.... For your main army (the one youll be attacking the Zwarziis the most with) have 3-4 generals in it (rather then 1 general and 2-3 regular heavy cavalry). And if your economy can handle it, have 3-4 generals in all of your major armies.
