Ive got spyware on my laptop, tried to use the spyware guide but one question how to do the cold shut down on a laptop? cant unplug it has a battery and im told pushing th ower button is a no no

A virusscan will catch these as well. Several are avilable online for free, try McAfee and ZoneALarma has one now as well. Shutting down your laptop will not interact withe spyware. Relax, have a beer

well i was trying to follow nahireans guide step by step, and wanted to know how to shut down my laptop cold, to prevent spyware from replicating upon shutdown

generally viruses/spyware hide in the nastiest corners of your OS, and so unless you get rid of those nasty *.dll's and registry keys, you are SOL however you shutdown. Use a good AV/AS like Drweb, shut down all browsers, turn off your system restore and update and run Drweb. It should kill everything that you have. Also, you may want to venture to some other forums like Lockernome or Lavasoft which have qualified techies who are really experienced in this kind of thing.

And after getting rid of the spyware, buy a really good virus/spyware protection program. Depends on your OS (but I'm guessing Windows) your options vary.

im not out to buy anything the computer sucks even for internet surfing, i can play old games on there like starcraft and thats it, i was looking for a free solution, like nahireans guide was promising.
