    Default Port Forwarding

I'm at a loss here. I'm tired of my torrent downloads going at a whopping 1.4 KB's per second. I'm paying for a high speed internet connection, and quite obviously, it should be doing better.

I looked into it and quickly discovered the magical world of port forwarding. My router is a Linksys WRT54GL which is upgraded to firmware version 4.30.5. The port I'm trying to open for Utorrent would, let's pretend be 48500. So, I follow the directions on www.portforward.com. I have a static IP address set up. So, I connect to my router, uncheck "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" and then enter this into my Port Forwarding menu:

Application - Start - End - IP Address - Enable
    Utor1 - 48500 to 48500 - Both - 192.168.1.*** - X

I have a real static IP address, I just don't know how safe it is to throw it around on forums. Utorrent is accepted by Windows Firewall, (I have XP w/ SP 2) and the only anti-virus software I'm running is Norton Symantec AntiVirus. After these steps, however, my status light remains yellow instead of green at the bottom of Utorrent which means no incoming connections. I tried BitTornado as well and my status light still shows no incoming connections. The torrents aren't dead. There are 51 seeds, and 478 peers on the one file I'm trying to download and I can't connect to any of them except those who are downloading off me. Out going connections work fine, apparently. I also use www.demonoid.com to download my torrents. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

actually you should try to give your firewall port exception for UDP & TCP traffic on sum port (range) you define...
+ your firewall must not scan for tcp traffic on that port (range) it will certainly block it...

Where do I do that? In Network connections --> Internet Connection --> etc, eventually I get to "Add Port" under Windows Firewall. I'm assuming that's what you mean, but what do I do from there?

demonoid is a private tracker and sum torrent need the passkey (login on site) inside their announce adress otherwise server will not allow you to connect to it
