Default 3 bombs in Vigo, Spain, defused by the police - extremist Galician/pro Portuguese group behind it

So now it's not only the Basques and the Catalans but also the Galicians which, perhaps because of the crisis, are now coming back with extremisms and the separatist and pro Portuguese agenda that rocked Galiza centuries ago. "A Resistência Galega", one of the most extremist groups of the "reunification" of the Portuguese and the Galicians.

Fortunately nobody died but, if anything, and if a peaceful region like Galiza is now housing nationalist terrorists, this can only seem an omen that the Basques will soon come back, and perhaps the Catalans.

And, well, I can see some right-wing Spanish politician profiting from this, you know, "to keep the nation united", etc. etc.

The terrorist group "Resistência Galega" planted 3 bombs ready to explode in Vigo, the capital of Galiza, Spain, with one of them exploding before the police arrived. There are no injuries.

Following the newspaper "La Voz de Galicia", which received the notification from the terrorist group, the other 2 bombs were defused on time by the National Police.

The explosives were planted under a public phone and there were minor material damages.

The bombs were made using easily accessed materials, like plastic bottles and gasoline.

The menace over Vigo deployed several policemen from the surrounding cities to the capital.

You can also tell they are Portuguese by the lack of success in their operations.

Meh, there's crazy wackos everywhere and I continue to be more worried about the Catala separatism than Basques or even some crazy Gallegos right now.

I can tell from Vigo, there will always be a couple of fools being silly and playing with the lives of others. Not the first time (there are separatist terrorist groups since at least twenty years), but fortunately, are only a couple of stupid extremists, I promise.

Edit: @Zé: thanks for your attention, but this is exaggerated.
Btw, your sources (La Voz de Galicia) are right-wing

There's a very simple solution for this: Portugal should re-join Spain. Then you can have Galicia as part of the Portugal province or whatever...

They were Galicians. I did think the Resistência Galega did have a reunification agenda but they don't. Other groups do.

Apparently they're just a bunch of anti-system extreme left-wing loonies and little more. And they're not connected, at least officially, in any way, to any legal reunification peer pressure group.

In fact their "separatism" probably means little - it's more about being extreme left wingers than anything else.

So their relation to Portugal may not be that great. And not all Galician separatism has to do with the Portuguese reunification. A great part of it does, but not all of it, and I doubt these fringe groups are related to those more mainstream ones.

Moreover, it seems the Portuguese police is now cracking down some residences in the North of Portugal as the leader of the group may be hidden in Portuguese territory.

Mishkin is galego, he'll now better. I think everything is relatively sorted out now.

Yeah because Portugal has been "forcing" Spaniards to join Portugal ever since the 12nd century .

You're really not worth it, never mind.

Some Galician separatists *do* talk about a reunification with Portugal, but they're not that many, because there aren't many separatists to begin with.

It is more important culturally than politically.

P.S - Mishkin, I actually just translated the article from a Portuguese newspaper, that's why there's no link.

Must be because Portugal is such an economic powerhouse................
