Ads popping up on my screen
For a few days now I've been getting pop-up ads in the lower right corner of my screen. I first noticed this on TWC and thought that the ad policies have changed, but then I noticed that I get this on any webpage. Thinking that Firefox is to blame, I switched to Chrome but they kept appearing. I've probably downloaded some ad-ware or something, but I really don't know when that could've happened - the only dubious things I downloaded recently were some screenshot-capturing apps, so I suppose they were the culprit.
Any ideas, aside from reinstalling Windows? Though, on a second thought, I should do that anyway, sometime...

Run a deep virus scan lately? You could have one.

Try downloading the ad-blocker for Google Chrome, if the problem persists you know it is a virus.

Try superantispyware for adware, then malwarebytes for malware, then run full scan with your anti-virus.
Then depending on what you have maybe MBR check for a master boot infection or TDSSKiller for rootkit and malware

Thanks everyone, it was definitely a sneaky virus. I reinstalled the OS...
