    Default Randome Crashes

Until recently I was able to play Shogun 2 for 45-60 minutes before it crashed, which was tolerable for me. When I upgraded my graphics card the other day, however, Shogun 2 took a turn for the worse. Now it crashes after what seems like 2 minutes, and also whenever I so much as click the 'save' button. It's fine if I go into a battle, so it seems to only effect the campaign map.

Original card was an ATI Radeon HD 5450, new card is ASUS Radeon HD 5450. Not sure what effect that could have had, but oh well. Also, side note, it has a similar effect on Napoleon Total War.

Is not exactly the same, one was from ATI, the other from ASUS.

Why did you replace the card? It could be a telling tale.

Did you blow the slot out good with air before putt ing the new one in? Could be heat?

    Are all your connections tight?

Did you use the same slot or change slots?

Sorry, wrote down the wrong name for the ATI card. It was ATI RADEON X2400 XT PRO. I replaced it for higher specs, the ASUS had 1 gb as opposed to the ATI's 256 mb, etc.
For what it's worth I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling which allows me to save, but I still can't play more than 5 minutes without the game crashing.

Run speedfan and post a pic.

It should give voltage and temp readings.

The drivers came with a software called "SmartDoctor" that does much the same thing. Not showing voltage, but temperature is staying steady at 125-130 degrees farenheit (52-55 celcius). It's odd, it clearly has a space where voltage would be shown, but there is nothing there.

This is where Speedfan comes in.

Your pic is just of the gpu. I'm looking for info on the whole computer.

Speedfan says the gpu is 64C. I had a card that did that and went over 80C playing Medieval2 campaign, not even battles.

Have you tried to set the gpus fan speed manually? You may need to.

Would you be willing to run PCWizard and see if the voltages come up on it?

Alright, here is what PCWizard brought up in the "Voltage, Temperature, and Fans" section. Also, is it relevant that my graphics card uses a heat sink instead of a fan?

Still can't get there from here.

What is the brand and model of your power supply and how old is it?

Looks like its a Dell H275P-01, most likely the one that came with the computer. I got it used from my brother, no idea how long he had it. A year or two, at least.

The power supply is too small for your graphics card. http://www.censuspc.com/Dell-MH300-2...-pr-10563.html

This power supply has only about half the power you need for the card. http://www.amd.com/us/products/deskt...verview.aspx#3
