    Default 1371

    Incomes for Royals
    D20 roll: 9

Production for Tier I provinces: 18,500 Reichmarks.
Production for Tier II provinces: 9,500 Reichmarks.
Production for Tier III provinces: 5,000 Reichmarks.

You can take a percentage of this amount per province as your tax.

    Incomes for Merchants
Since we are yet to perfect the system, I think a fixed amount would be good for the merchants to draw up.
    Merchants, please draw 15,000 Reichmarks.

Also, the rest of the base incomes (yearly) are the same.
And please do not draw multiple ones, if your character has a land, you are a royal, and if character has a shop, then merchant.

So do we just name a percentage and that's it?

    Pretty much.
1/4 is the safe threshold. But asking for 1/2 or more would be inviting peasant revolts.
Mention this tax rate in your County thread.

Am I a royal or merchant?

"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

i guessed as much but I thought I could be a count and a merchant? My whole reason for joining was to be a merchant and I thought by taking a coastal city I could use it as a base for a trading empire (not a real empire just a collection of regions that conducts large amounts of trade).

If you are a Merchant and you own a region, collect the income of a Merchant Republic. Your merchant levels are separate, and you may trade. Speaking of which, Merchant Republics should probably make the type of their holdings clear in their province thread.

to anyone who has added the income from provinces so far... it is not 9,500. It is 9,500 multiplied by your tax rate.. 1/2, 1/4 , 1/3 and so on.. so 4750 for 1/2 , 3,166 for 1/3
and then you get it to do it for each province you own.

That depends on how you count. I have three Tier 2 provinces, each producing 9 500 Rm. If I split that in 3 if I have a tax rate of 1/3 I get 3 166 Rm. That times three, as my three provinces produce the same amount, is 9 500 Rm. So for me it is unnecessary to dig myself to deep into math.

Here's a good and simple way to figure out your income:

Add together all your income from your provinces. Then you divide by your tax rate and then you should have what you've earned.

You can't be royalty (count, duke, king, etc) as a Merchant. You can only begin as a Governor.. No true noble titles, just a freedman really lol
