What are your opinions on this? German rower Nadja Drygalla was subject to hateful persecution by leftist extremist media for "possibly having ties with right-wing person", i.e. she had had a relationship with someone, who was in a nationalist party.
Does guilt by association of this type belong in a democratic society? Should people be punished for what their friends, acquaintances, children, siblings, parents etc do?
And even if those were her own opinions, should the olympics really dictate what athletes are allowed to hold as political opinions, or should sports just be about sports and nothing else?
Considering how atheletes are often actively forced to show support for multi-culti etc, does the olympic cominter (intentional misspelling) really have the right to deny athletes the right to a private life with own opinions?
(sorry if this was mentioned in the Voula thread already, but a quick glance implied it had reached the Godwin's law state)
