Default PC buying time! - Advice needed!

    Righty ho!

After this summer's jobs and slavery, I've gathered enough money to buy a new PC since my current one barely can run Minecraft.

I'm Swedish and have therefore been looking at the site Komplett.se where they have premade custom built PC's (sounds weird yeah) where you can customise parts and they build it for you. Doing this I've come up with this setup:

    Case:
CM Storm Trooper Gaming Big Tower Fläktar: 2x 120mm Front, 1x 200mm Topp, 1x 140mm Bak, ATX, mATX, xlATX, USB 3.0

    Power supply:
    Cooler Master GX Lite 600W PSU ATX 12V V2.3, Standard, 1x 4+4 CPU, 1x Floppy, 2x Molex, 2x 6+2pin PCIe, 6x SATA

    Motherboard:
    MSI B75MA-P45, Socket-1155 m-ATX, B75, DDR3, 1xG3-PCIe-x16, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, VGA, DVI, UEFI [

    CPU:
    Intel® Core i7-3770K Processor Socket-LGA1155, Quad Core, 3.5Ghz, 8MB, Boxed w/fan

    RAM:
    Crucial DDR3 BallistiX 1600Mhz DDR3 16GB 16GB kit(4GBx4),Tactical, 1600Mhz, 1.5V, CL8-8-8-24

    GFX:
    Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA PCI-Express 3.0, GDDR5, DVI-D+DVI-I, native-HDMI, DisplayPort, 915MHz

    SSD:
    Intel® SSD 330 Series 120GB 2.5", 25nm SATA 6 Gb/s (SATA3.0), 500MB/450MB/s read/write

    Hard drive:
    Western Digital® Desktop Green 1TB SATA 6Gb/s, (SATA 3.0), RPM = IntelliPower, 64MB, 3.5" [

    Disc reader thingy:
    Sony Optiarc DVD±RW Writer, AD-5280S SATA, DVD±R: 24x, DVD+RW: 8x, DVD-RW: 6x, Bulk, BLACK

This all coupled with Windows 7 64x.

This all would cost me 12738 SEK, or around 1537,55€, 1876,30$, 1208,76£.

Am I paying too much for this build? Am I missing something crucial in this build? All advice is welcome

avoid green drives if you plan to have a slow HDD for storage thats fine but im guessing you will be installin games to it green = 5400 rpm = slow access times tend to be terrible which is what makes them feel sluggish
you have a 3770k ment for overclocking but no decent CPU cooler and you paired it with a low end motherboard if you dont plan to overclock buy the non k 3770 and save a few $$ but overall if that USD comparison is right yea it seems a bit overpriced.

    Hey Abbs!

Who, you can sure get a nice PC for 1537,55€ . My was for around the same price, around 1300.

I would say almost the same, tough I recomend some more DDR (hehe expecially for MC), the SSD Remlap sugested is good enough, tough you could meaby go for a smaller but faster one. Not sure what you want to do with it. If its just for your clean windows install then 32 or 64 would be enough. Myself I have a smaller one, 64 gig but a faster and my pc is now on in about 4 sec

Aswell, I won't go for 2 videocards... Its pretty useless when you have only a 3.1 GHZ processor. I would rather say go for the AMD HD 6900 series. Its WAAY cheaper as Nvidia stuff. Aswell, I can easily run every game on highest settings without lag and good frames. Witcher 2, Battlefield 3, Metro almost all benchmakers.

    I had this last year and got on a total of 1300 euro's;

Note tough this was a year ago. You can get it WAY cheaper now. I would say for around 1100 euros. Tough, I know that in Sweden everything is way more expensive. Or at least Baerke told me that

    Remlap

why pair a top tier Z77 board with a non overclockable i5 2400? $240 motherboard with a mid range cpu seems a bit asinine the sabertooth boards really arent that amazing. then to to cut corner on memory which is one of the cheapest things available now? none of that build really makes any sense.

As for Diglytron 6900 series is End of life replaced by the 7800 series which is faster in 90% of todays games while using half the power, and running cooler quieter and is cheaper. P67 is a dead end so that would be a waste of money, 2500k is a solid choice for overclocking runs cooler than Ivy Bridge.

where are you buying from abbews so i can actually spec out a proper build.

I've got a monitor, keyboard, speakers, headphones, mouse etc. Max budget is 12 000 SEK but I can go to 13 000 SEK if necessary, or higher if it's some very worthwile upgrade.

About the SSDs, a friend of mine runs a PC business, he only uses the 500gb SSDs and therefore I get his 120gb ones for free, since he has no use for them.

At the time I wrote that I was putting something together to do what Abbs wanted. I was led to believe he would be using 32 bit windows but have been informed today he would be using 64 bit, so I agree getting more ram would be good. He also isn't going to be overclocking so he could get a cheaper MB but you get what you pay for in electronics, and he wanted to do sli. While I agree that he could get one card, I would recommend he go towards his original card the GTX 670 which would allow him to get a cheaper PSU. ATI do have good cheap cards, but after a few bad experiences with them I can't recommend them. Also that processor should be good enough for running Photoshop and the latest games with a conferrable graphics card, he could get a higher end one but he said his budget was 1500 USD and I had no idea about shipping etc. so I left about 90$ to play with.

Don't AMD cards generally draw less power? You can get more bang for your buck with one of those right now.

Alright bumping the thread heres what i got.

    CPU: Intel i5 3570K Quadcore http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=660227

    Total Cost: 12.829,00

    Price can be reduced
example a different CPU cooler would lower max overclock potential but could save 200-300 etc
Build could be slimmed down to around 12,000.00 even give or take but this is what i would recommend.

Right, modified it a bit. Removed the SSD and OS since I will get that for free and doubled the RAM, changed MB and added a screen(I hope I can dual screen on this build).

    Edit:
This is the rather final build: http://www.komplett.se/k/shoplist.as...D-426443C9E84F

I believe everything will work together but if you wise guys could have a look I would appreciate it.

    Hi guys!

Things didn't go as expected so I cut my budget a bit (damn these awesome trips).

Basically, I've already got an 128gb SSD, Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit, 24" LED screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers.

I've made this build, and I wonder if this is good, bad or terrible

    http://www.inet.se/kundvagn/visa/2222881/2012-08-28

I do very much appreciate your advice.

okay so your paying more for slower ram then i picked out previously that uses tall heatsinks which if your with a stock cooler is fine or water cooler like i selected but should you buy an aftermarket cooler to overclock your memory wont fit under the cooler itself aka clearance issues

your saving on the PSU but you went from modular and 80+ Silver efficiency which is 90%+ to a unit that barely hits 80% and is non modular aka rats nest of cables you now have to hide and manage

price is down overall dont see to many issues except those i outlined, as for the mobo its okay step down in terms of features but still fairly solid.
