    Default Re: Cell Phone interference

I get interference on my speakers quite often if I keep my cell near them.

I really know very little about the electronics that make up cell phones. I do know that unshielded computer components are notoriously susceptible to static and electro-magnetic fields, and I also know that a cell phone has to have a relatively powerful transciever for it to operate well. My being the rather over-cautious person I am, I tend to put these two things together and worry somewhat.

I try to keep my cell away from my computer. Even if it's just a speaker glitch, I don't trust it. As for your cell apparently shutting your computer off... I know I'd soil my pants if I thought my cell was doing that to my pc. If you can manage it I'd advise keeping your phone out of range of your computer, just to be safe.

If anyone else knows much about cell phones and how they might affect computer hardware or other sensitive electronics, I'd be interested in finding out more.
