The Olympic flame during the original olympics was a continous flame at the temple of Hera as an offering to the gods, sorta. The modern lighting of it begins at the former temple of Hera every time a new game starts. Basically the Olympics are blasphemy and pagan worship.

The fire itself though was a gift from Prometheus and Prometheus was chained to a rock in the Caucasus. So technically the flame ceremony is Greek but the fire comes from Armenia. Thank the Armenians for the gift of fire.
