The count of Zeeland meets the King Of England

The King is sitting in the backyard facing the sea. He invites you to have a seat.
Greetings, so what do I owe the pleasure?

Lord King of England, I come here with an odd request.
Firstly I want to compliment you on this huge and nice country you have forged here, To bad France Is a thorn in your sight.

I come here to ask for your assistant in the upcoming war of the Country of Zeeland & Frisia against the Country of Holland. The province of Holland is under my rightful claim and I want to govern it.
Now I am sure you sir think what do I gain in this. My reply is Soldiers. I will let my soldiers after our accomplishment march south to divide the attention of French troops.

I Count Christiaan Van Isendoorn, rules or Zeeland, Breda and Loon as your help in the form of soldiers to invade the county of Holland. In return I will help the Kingdom of England with fighting France for English honor!

You Sir, really have bravado. I'll give you that.

You want me to give you troops to fight a Prince of Empire? Not to mention that the Prince in question happens to be my relative, related to the House of Plantagenet.

And even if I give you troops, what of your Kaiser? He has the ear of the Pope himself, and the largest army in the mainland. Would he just take it in good spirit?

You speak of France. France is not a thorn, but my rightful lands. Should I help you, France would rush towards the Kaiser about this, and I would have to brave the might of France and your Kaiser.

Tell me one good merit of your plan. What do I have to gain?

Chris looks a little astounded not having expected this.

He is a merely count as an I king. He stole the lands I rightfully claim so, sit would you take kind of someone began stealing your palace in London saying it is his land ?

If it is your family why did he leave England ? Should he be not a count under your rule sir ? He clearly fell in to disgrace.
I would not fear the empire my lord. I have 20.000 soldiers under a joint command. The western armies of the emperor do my match that at all.
I give the uppertunity to punish him, and to revive help in supporting your rightful claim against France.

The emperor needs us new counts to keep his land going. As one of the most active counts in the empire I doubt the emperor wouldn't understand. If he does not understand he loses lord support he drastically needs.

You think the Kaiser drastically needs you. When there are many other counts, your rivals, who would be overjoyed of your fall from grace. Not to mention that he has an army 25,000 strong. He can easily take me and France single handed.

The King ponders for a while, then speaks again.
Let me present you a proposition. If you convince your Kaiser to enter the war with France. Nothing onerous, just give you a few troops to command, and you fight France for me. I'll sponsor your attack on my relative. Not to mention some French territories for your Kaiser and yourself, and the rest for me.

King of England, I am slightly disappointed in you, Since when do the armies of England number so few ? Where is your fighting spirit against the French ?
The Entire western side of the empire supports me in my endeavor, You family has betrayed you in some way by fleeing to the empire I offer you the door in.

I shall convince the emperor in time, and lead more then a few forces. However that will be in time when the crown is mine.

Chris takes a cup of water seated before him.

Or of course you want me to support France and loan there troops ?

I could use as many troops as I can get to assure victory. You will not be disappointed.

I can give you troops, maybe a thousand or two. But it will take time, for they have to be mustered.
