Default Medieval II Gold Install Problem

Hi guys, the problem is when I go to install Medieval 2 Gold it instantly asks me to insert Disc 2, after doing so it comes up with an error message stating "This 1.03.000 update cannot be applied to the version of the game." After pressing ok on this it stops for a while then comes up with another message stating "Failed to apply updates to Medieval II: Total war. Aborting installation."

I borrowed Medieval 2 on it's own from a friend a while ago and i'm pretty certain i've deleted all remaining files of it, i've gone into regedit to sift out any remaining files. I've tried disabling my firewall and anti-virus progams but it just comes up with the same message. I'm on windows 7.

Could someone help me out with this please? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

Uninstall MagicISO and delete all traces of it including registry keys and odds are it iwll install or convince www.securom.com otherwise.

I hate to muddy the waters but I noticed something completely unrelated to your problem with M2 - you also seem to have a Q:\drive on your system that probably can't be accessed. From your DxDiag log under drives:

    Drive: Q:
    Model: n/a

If you have Outlook on that system then it's probably a Reg problem with Outlook. It has nothing to do with Medieval 2 and will not impact your system in any way and is in no way harmful. It's just an annoying file fragment in the Registry. Just a heads up and good luck!

Or it's the office computer with office on Q: drive.

Thanks for the help, I deleted MagicISO but I still had the same problem. So my friend brought over his copy of Medieval 2 and his copy of Kingdoms, we installed them and then downloaded the 1.5 Gold patch, now I can play the game with my Gold discs.

Again, thanks for all your help.

It's not reporting any space available or used. It's likely a zero-bit drive. But then again I've been incredibly wrong on occasion....

I remember someone in the Basement being asked this on his dxdiag and he said it was for his office work either on a n exernal drive or a USB stick. It had something to do with tranferring files between hs laptop and the company's desktop.

I believe I looked it up in Gggole and it showed up as a n Officeapplication for import/export work.
