I heard this to be true, has anyone else herd this? I really hope this is not true. It sounds total war is going in the way of a regular RTS game.

I hope there are not areas/objects or locations to be fought over. That in my opinion would ruin total war battles.

It sounds very similar to my first fear

"One thing that does bother me tho is that totalwar is no longer about wars on the battlefield but more about capturing battlefield magic buildings that give army bonuses that's a bit more than i can handle :\ Its almost insulting to have the map dictate where i have to attack or lose that magic bonus."

could ca be implementing this mp option and forcing it onto sp?

I doubt it will be that important. Sieges always had capture points; all they've really said is that they are thinking about having multiple capture points. And buildings have been garrison-able since ETW.

no...i think he meant that there are going to be multiple capture points in a city and that you might want to place your siege towers there

But he said it said we have to capture a certain spot than build tower on map. This is what concerns me.Nothing about garrisoning houses.

    Common sense.

It makes sense and is a good idea to need to capture multiple points in a city than just a central plaza anyway; to control a city you need to control the city...Not just a particular point right in the centre.

Wait. So you start a siege battle, capture a building outside the city, and then actually build the towers during the battle?

There's a reason none of us think this will ever happen. The idea is just silly.

I swear one of the interviews said something like that, but I can't be bothered to dig through them all to find it.

Siege engines will be built outside of the battlefield, just like in other TW games.

You mean like in RTW adn MTW2 when you could seize gatehouses, Towers and had to seize the central plaza?

I would far rather there were multiple capture points than the inevitable 'slog it out with the town centre blob' of RTW. If seizing a capture point reduces the enemy morale then all the better.

The idea of S2TW capturing buildings on the battlefield was good but not that well implemented in the game. A different system for R2TW would work.

Building siege towers is not something you do in the midst of the battle. I hope that they mean that sieges will be multi-layered, for example in one assault you fight for the control over a certain area and then when you win that battle you'll be able to build the siege equipment and take on the inner walls etc...

My interpretation of that interview was that the siege towers would be assembled off the boats (basically they're built on the campaign map, but being used in an amphibious assault so need to be carried onto the beach in parts)
