Leader Boards GET RID OF IT OR RESET IT!!!

I would move this to the multiplayer section but it appears CA only cares about DLCs for single player right now. Releasing campaigns and new factions to be used.

Well we've always had the problem of the leaderboard. The Top 8 players on it are the biggest droppers and lobby dodgers and they only do this to preserve their leaderboard ranking by doing some noobish stunts in game to gain a quick win to continue to rank up on the 1v1 land leaderboard. (Ex. Spamming cav, camping in their spawn with artillery etc..which all fails in the end)

FIX, GET RID, OR RESET THE LEADERBOARDS!!!

Others and myself are swarmed by droppers. Fix this or it will spread to rome 2.

All droppers we faced in the past few weeks.

Creative Assembly should join and discuss these problems with the clans that play multiplayer. We're discussing this here.

I think a lot of people don`t realise that MP problems such as the above will NEVER be totally eradicated. I used to play a lot of multiplayer in various games for years and from 10 years ago to NOW, I see the same old complaints. It never ends.

But people still lap it up anyway.

I stopped playing multiplayer because while it`s good against known friends (proper friends I might add), against anyone else it`s a lottery. I got tired of having my whole sessions ruined by idiots. Also I`ve had enough of this rankings stuff, it`s what brings out the worst of them.

Yes, but we never had droppers or extremely lame tactics in Rome. I occasionally get dropped in Empire, but constantly in Shogun 2. And Empire was the first one trying to rank players against each other.

While we're on the subject, my online stats are always inaccurate and usually appear to be reset. One can not simply view his stats at any time and find an accurate account of them. This has always been a problem. For example, how is Steam going to give me an Achievement for "Win 10 siege battles in multiplayer" when my stats always say Won/Lost 0:0?

Just ignore the rankings. Same thing as getting rid of it. It's just a number that nobody cares about other than you.

Ignoring it I already do, but I'm not the one defending my ranking. It's the top 9 players that dedicate their life of gaming of noobishness to gain an imaginary rank that they can be proud of.

I say fix it and reset it. That will solve all the idiocy of these droppers.

The server notes that a particular player's character has started a match. Once the non-dropper gets to the main menu, the server is informed that both players did not finish the match and, when the dropper connects, they are greeted with a loving -1.

Of course, it won't deal with those who employ more technical means of cheating, but surely it'll knock out those who simply crash their game or what ever they do to drop.

Personally i don't even care about rankings.. and this is one reason why... the rankings are just a cosmetic thing they don't really show anything as far as skill etc...

The reason it`ll never be solved is because penalising drop outs could be penalising an innocent guy who had a power cut or whose PC really did crash.

This is the whole problem, you can`t penalise droppers without possible hurting a whole lot of innocent people. It`s like locking up the inhabitants of an entire street because you know a criminal lives in one of the houses.

If an innocent user has a power cut or crash, it will be a very infrequent -1 to their name. If it's frequent, they should be spending their time fixing their computer or complaining to the power board!

Something has to be done about it one way or the other.

I hope Rome II gets all these issue's fixed.

My internet has dropped a few times during or at the beginning of a match. Because my internet cuts out constantly. We have called the company, we have had repairmen sent out, we have even tried to change companies. To no avail. I do not agree players should be penalized. There you go. And NO games maker will ever have MP gaming rules that can possibly reject paying potential Online Players. CA wants Online Players and are pushing for them, that much is obvious. So they won`t do anything like that.

Like I said, it`s been going on for years. The droppers know they can get away with it because there`s no real way to stop them without hurting others. Remember, we are dealing with PEOPLE, not AI, you can`t treat people (even Multiplayer kids) like an AI you can just force to be a certain way without alienating almost every body and losing sales.

The only choice is forget rankings and play privately with friends you know.

It`s that simple.

p.s. Actually, there`s ONE way i`ve seen that works relatively well. Make a REALISTIC MP mode that has longer battles with allowed defensive manouevers and tactics (`camping` allowed and welcome, etc). Where you have to learn realistic fight combat tactics, since the kind of people who play are more mature and far less likley to be dishonourable. When we had people like Team killers who got bored (because they can`t shoot straight), they couldn`t even shoot us down by surprise in their attempt to ruin the game. And quitters were very rare. It put off the juvenile quitting crowd.

Meh. just a possibility which won`t be in all likelihood used.

I think a way that would work, but requires more work on CA's end, is to have a way to record the number of drops done by a player. While the occasional crash, power outage could be expected, if they see a player seems to be constantly dropping - and if the system sends the game's status and reveals it's always when they're losing, and not when they're winning - they could personally hand out -1's for the drops instead. Not sure if such a system would work or not, however.

Leaderboards on most games are faked anyway, I think in the Shogun ladder aren't there around a dozen people who are somehow rank 1 shogun with 1 win/0 losses?
