Moved from Residences to Reich sub-forum.
A group of horsemen rides through the town. The banners they carry are white and blue with a golden lion and indicates that it is a nobleman and his entourage. The townspeople looks at them and wonders who the noble is and what he is doing there. The person riding in the front is a big man, with a great scar his cheek, a truly intimidating sight. The group stops outside the study of von Humboldt. The large man unmounts his horse, walks up to the front door and knocks.
Wilhelm was busy at work on his contraption which was designed to produce some sort of audible harmonics, however as of late it merely made a screeching and ear-defining sound that rumbled from it's interior. When he heard the knock, he casually continued taking apart his design as he plunged his head inside it's frame to check what faults were present; shouting at whoever was at the door.
"Come in!"
The man walks with four of his men. He wonders what the noise he just heard, but lets it go when he sees a man halfway down a oddly shaped box. His men start to go towards the man to drag him out and "teach" him some manners, but he waves them off.
Excuse me, but I am seeking Willhelm von Humboldt. Might you be the man I'm looking for?
Wilhelm popped out of the contraption, dusting himself down with his hands as he ruffled his hair and stood upright to face his guests.
"Well, if your looking for the only scholar and inventor in this area of the city named that then you've found the right person."
He pulled out a chair from nearby, perching himself on it so he faced the back of the chair,
"Was there something I could do for you gentlemen?"
Heinrich scans the man with his eyes. He smiles as the man isn't the old dusty scholar he imagined. He's much more interesting.
I am Count Heinrich I of Frisia and I have come here because I have heard that you are a scholar of the renowned von Humboldt family. I have also heard that you are right now not in service of any lord, and I have an offer you might like.

Wilhelm rocked on his chair, leaning his elbows on the back of the chair and his hands holding his chin up in a laid back yet interested position;
"Offer? What kind of offer are we talking about here?"
An offer of patronage, mein herr. In these time a scientific advance, in whatever form it may be, is almost as necessary the air we breathe.
Heinrich walks over to the box Willhelm was in.
For example, this contraption that you are working on. If it was this I heard, then I'd guess that it is for making sound, maybe even music?
Wilhem looked over to his latest work, it was by far in it's early stages and fraught with flaws and stumbling blocks, however it had the prospects of becoming something quite magnificence given more time and work.
"Ah yes, I had been trying to configure and design some kind of instrument which has a wide range of harmonic notes which It can produce unlike the flute."
Heinrich smiled. This was an ambitious man with a good mind that he thought would one day make something that would change history. He needed this man.
That sounds like a marvelous idea for an instrument, and I'm sure that it will one day be as common as the flute. But without financial aid you might find yourself at an obstacle that you cannot get over. Then you stand there, without a single Reichsmark in your pocket and with a contraption that no one wants. That's why I'm here. If I were to be your patron you'd get whatever you want and need. I'd be the man who'd throw out a rope if you were to fall off the boat. So what do you think of my offer?
"Ah, of course. Would this require me to relocate somewhere within thine's regional influence?"
No, it does not. But it would save us a lot of rouble if you were to move to the the capital of Frisia, Leeuwarden. If you move or not is though entirely up to you.
Wilhelm quickly fumbled around for a piece of parchment, jotting down the address and time he would need to arrive at.
"If you give me a week or two, I'll finish off my project here and then send my stuff to an appropriate place in Frisia."
Excellent, then I will await your arrival in Leeuwarden. Now, I must beg my leave and get back to Frisia. Good day to you, von Humboldt, and good luck with your instrument.
With that he left the house, followed by his guard, mounted his horse and rode away, back to his beloved Frisia. What an interesting man, he thought. Life won't be dull when he's in Frisia.
