Shogun 2 Crashes At "random" Tines

First off please excuse my grammar. I have not slept for a while.

Now then I purchased Total War: Shogun 2 when it was on sale through steam.
I have the graphics at a custom rate and the game crashes at certain times.


Crashes in battles:
When I turn the UI on and off
After general gives speach press escape to skip and what not it crashes


Crashes on Campaign map:
When I click on the clan information sheet
Multiplayer overview map crashes


System specs.
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.6GHz
4GB DDR2
Nvidia GTX 470

I thought it was thermal crashes at first because the 470 was hitting 90+ but it kept crashing even when I over clocked the Fan.

Game runs smoothly and with little lag on the settings I have it set at when it does want to run crashes are the only problem.

Have you tried verifying the game cahe?
Do you have any mods installed?

I have no mods installed, and how would I go about verifying the game cache?

Scratch that post. I found a tutorial on how to do it. Its running right now but it is stuck at 74% and has been for 10 minuets.

Mine was stuck at 74% longer. Nothing new.

Are you running in Direct X 11 or 9. Because when I ran Direct X 11 it crashed it crashed randomly.

Ok sorry for the late reply went out of town. I retried the verification it and it completed and no errors came up. I then ran the game and it crashed at the same time. I have tried using DX9 but it still crashes.
