Including the provinces of Mecklenburg, Rostock and Werle
Count Friedrich I presiding
Mecklenburg is a mostly flat countryside, with lakes, ponds and marshes interspersed across the landscape. Agriculture is the economic mainstay, although the land is used mostly for grazing rather than crops. A special type of stone, cut from ancient lava flows is also used in construction. Count Friedrich resides at the Castle of Mikilenburg, outside of the main city of Schwerin. Rostock and Wismar are the two main port cities on the Baltic. After the Duke of Saxons conquered the area in the 12th century, it became Christianized, and a mixture of Saxons and Flemish immigrated into a mostly Slavic countryside. This, however, did bring in German law and other reforms, and the province was soon incorporated into the HRE.
