I remember there was a lot of worrying about the military aspect of Rome 2 becomes too macro-managed (as in, not being able to move individual units on the campaign map, etc).
But i just had a thought: What if you dont have to?
For example, the main reason to move individual units, in my experience, would be to replace units that i lost in battle, or boost garrisons that have been attacked and lost men or units (might be different for others, but thats what i mainly used single units for).
But what if, when a unit is reduced to 0 men, the unit doesn't disappear? Instead, using the replenishment system of the Empire-Shogun 2 games, the unit is gradually rebuilt from 0 men?
it would inevitably lose all its experience, but it would get rid of the need to move single units about the place.
The other idea i had was based around whether it was possible to merge legions and troops. My idea was you could get a general (if needed, if not needed then you wouldn't need one) to 'create' a legion which would be made up of troops you want to distribute. you could then send this 'legion' marching about distributing the units in the areas needed.
Personally,i prefer the former idea using the replenishment system, but i was wondering what other ideas and views people have on how CA is going to prevent the military aspect becoming too macro-managed ( on the campaign map, at least).
