This may sound like a short and dumb question but I have to ask
Will we get a chance to build hadrian's wall?
EDIT: Also will we get accurate & Historical blood line Faction leaders? I Will start a new thread about this

I do not think so unless they span into Empire timeframe ...
But eventually woudl be cool to build "limes" and fortifications like Hadrians wall wherever we like to put the borders of the Republic or Empire .

Why just build that wall when you can build any wall you want?
Thats what I want.![]()
Although the time period the game might cover might not cover up to when the wall was built they could still do what they have done with previous games and allow you to research building structures like that. They could be made very very expensive and time consuming to build, so you cant just wall up the whole of the empire due to the risk of bankruptcy and such.
Hadrians wall would be a great feature, but i dont think it will be implemented but you could just set up a wall of forts and put some Auxilaries in em. Thats what i do anyway.
I can envision this feature in a DLC/expansion campaign based on the later period.
Just build a chain of fort accross northern britian that are in each other ZoC.
Thoguh if we can actualy build walls that would be sweet id build them all around my boarders so nobody could invade me.
My mods
-Mod Leader for the Wheel Of Time This is not the beginning, but it is a beginning
-Mod Leader for Shogun 2: Foreign Invasion if you want a mod with alot of units this is for you, not only is there the 40 units CA made theres planned to be atleast 177 NEW units when its done.
-Modder in the World War I and Shogun II project. The only full scale mod for FOTS and it plays nothing like FOTS. FOTS may have Gatling guns, WW1&S2 has tekidanto samurai, SNLF, MGs, kisho snipers, assault infantry(shotguns) just to name a few.
Just solve this by making them extremely costly to build, and make them come with their own high upkeep cost. (and of course, any section along the wall can be sieged so it's not impregnable by any means, although the "wall" is actually an early concept of deep defence, so it should be very easy to defend. just need the ai to concentrate forces if they want to get through)
According to this poll, 80%* of TGW fans agree that "The mod team is devilishly handsome" *as of 12/10 (its true)
My specs:
CPU - Intel i5 4670k @3.8 GHz | GPU - MSI GEFORCE GTX 770 LIGHTNING 2GB GDDR5 | RAM - 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ | MOBO - Z87 | HDD - 1TB | SSD - SAMSUNG 840 PRO SERIES 256GB SOLID STATE HARD DRIVE 2.5" | PSU - 750W | CASE - COOLERMASTER ENFORCER | MONITOR - 24" IIYAMA
Hadrian's Wall would be cool if there would be some serious arse kicking action from the AI using barbarians. Otherwise it would serve no real purpose other than providing graphical satisfaction.
Make walls a part of the general's building options on the campaign map (like watch towers and forts), but make them very expensive. Have them divided into tiers/levels.
That way you could build any wall you like and possibly name it whatever you like...
I think that founding new towns should probably be more of a priority.

Then a system of military colony.
You would build a colony in a new conquered territory and then be able to recruit some of your own unit instead of the native one.
This might work as well for any non-Roman faction.
The colony won't show in the campaign map or only with the form of a fort with much possibilities of economic development.
And a province would only support one colony
I think it would be a great idea to be able to build strategic structures on the campaign map. It might be difficult but there are already areas that forts and watchtowers can be built.
As far as the Romans are concerned, they built quite a number of large walls. One, along the German frontier, was the second longest fortification in the history of civilization. It was a wooden wall and the mound it was built on is still in existance in many locations. Crassus also built a wall accross the toe of Italy to box-in Sparticus during the slave revolt.
So, Yes, walls would not only be great, but historically correct as well.
It would be a nice feature, but I don't see how it would work. Maybe have some battlefields with this incorporated. That would be nice.
Wow that would be cool But I Don't think the barbarians can even aspire to attack the wall, It was built too high to climb but they made occasional raids.
Portions of the 120 km Long wall were guarded by detachments of soldiers, I Like small skirmishes as much as massive battles so I Hope they would include this

Interesting how the biggest empires of the time built big walls to keep out the "barbarians" Chinese and Romans ....
tough if History teaches something , the walls usually make the opposite effect of cultural diffusion instead than keep out the "enemy" ...
trooops garrisoned the walls and the centers where those where stationed become important trade centers with what was beyond the walls , the trade centers diffuse the empire cutlure thus resulting in a civilization acceleration for the "barbarians" beyond ...
the Walls where pretty similar to the Chinese counterparts concept, apart that the Original contemporary Chinese ones were made of a mud as a highground ... while the known "wall of china " made of bricks is a more modern medieval "remake that interests only a small part of the original one ...
