Name:
In Hungarian: Holzácy Magyar István
In Romanian: Ștefan Maghiarescu
In German: Stefan von Holstein
In Latin: Stephanus Hungarius Holsatius
Age: 32
Appearance: Brown hair, green eyes, poorly grown beard. Sort of like this.
Skill: +4 intelligence, +2 command, +4 strength
Origin: His father is an ethnic Hungarian, and his mother is Moldavian (Romanian).
Family/House: His father's family hails from one of the many lesser noble families in Hungary, who might not be very significant, but can easily trace back his ancestry to the 7 tribes which conquered Hungary 895, or even before that, all the way to Attila's Huns. On his mother's side, his mother's family came from Vlach voivodes, so they always had high position, although he can't really trace his maternal ancestry back for more than 100 years.
Even though he was born in Western Moldavia, his family quickly moved first to Hungary, then Bohemia, and finally Holstein. Thanks to his father's financial support, the young Stephanus could train in the way of the warrior, using a sword, and riding a horse.
The cut the long story short, on his father's side he claims Attila's heritage.
Background Story: Born in modern-day Iasi in 1338, Stephanus wouldn't live very long in the Land of the Vlachs. His family soon moved to his father's original residence in Csorna, Western Hungary. However, after his grandfather died, Stephanus's father lost the succession debate, and ended up inheriting nothing but gold, ornaments and other goods - anything but land.
So they moved to try their luck first into Bohemia, which proved to be unsuccessfull. But instead of returning to Hungary, they went further up, to Holstein.
That's where Stephanus spent the rest of his remaining childhood, and his years of military training, and off course, his education. Thanks to his talent in military matters, he quickly became a squire, and at the age of 28, he already became a Ritter, Knight.
Stephanus is not only physically strong, and talented in military matters, but also intelligent, and well-educated, literate. A rare combination during the Middle Ages.
