Count Otto Von Welf mounted on his horse arrives at the Estate, followed by 6 guards. Once he reaches the gate he presents him self.

"Good morning, I'm Count Otto of Firenze, I ask for an audience with the Toddric Ramsey."

A servant bows and ushers in the Count. He takes him to the Landgrave's private study, where Toddric is studying maps of the Mediterranean

Toddric sees his guest and goes to greet him hand extended

It is good to see you, Count Otto I believe? He reaches to shake the man's hand

Otto walks inside, looking around the interior, the owner was certainly someone of possessions and good taste. Once they arrive at the study room, Otto shakes Toddric's hand.

Otto Von Welf, Count of Firenze, delighted to meet you Toddric. Putting his hands behind his back - I hope I've not come in a bad time..., I've been hearing of you for sometime now. As I was on my way to Nassau I decided to pass by Genoa and finally have the honor of meet you personally.

The pleasure is mine, Count. I have been indesposed for the past year. Since my little.. Incident on Corsica, I have had alot of political business in Provence, and Corsica. I believe it's all pretty well taken care of now. Toddric is still in his sling from when he was wounded fighting the Governor of Corsica

I've heard of your adventures in Corsica, worth runs that your work there was impressive, the Kaiser him self speaks wonders of you!.. Otto turns around for a while and thinks.. - You know.. we might share something,.. the will to dethrone tyrant rulers - Otto laughs. Not but a month ago I was forced to take over Lucca, their ruler, a maleficent count ruled his people as slaves... I couldn't stand for such thing, the Italian People deserves dignity! - He says with a strong voice.

That is what I believe cyphers the Empire.. Your efforts are commendable, and we share a lot in common. You took down a rival for me, in Lucca, and for that I am grateful.

Each man is out for himself. This was evident of Governor DeFeore of Corisca, and the Viscount of Provence. Both subjugated provinces now. I turn my attentions now to Venice, and Pisa, Count Otto. I am in need of Pisa. It is a vital trade establishment that rivals Genoa, and Venice. Perhaps we could come to an arrangement? I care not for much else in Italy, aside from the coastal regions of importance to me. Pisa is all I need in the West of Italy now to secure my monopoly on trade. You could have the rest of the provinces for all I care. I could even assist you in obtaining them, if we could join together to take control of the rest of northern Italy, before the Lombards expand too far. My attentions are on Venice as well... Toddric motions for his servants to shut the door of his study

You would be a valuable ally to posses, Count Otto. We could control most of Northern Italy. There are still several citystates that need to be subjugated.

I propose we join our forces. But there is another foe in our midst... Venice. How do you feel about the Venetians? Toddric sits down and leans back in his chair, motioning for his guest to take a seat in the amazingly comfortable silk cushioned seats, a luxurious Sicilian design with Arab silk skirts, stuffed with duck feathers

Toddric snaps his finger and a servant is ushered in through a side door by a bodyguard, with a tray of the finest wine in Italy. A true vintage worth of only the most prominent of nobility. Count Otto is offered a golden lion chalice. The chalice itself made of Egyptian fine gold, smelted and worked tirelessly by a local goldsmith, adorned with tiny fire rubies, and ocean sapphires.

Otto takes his seat and accepts the wine, he raises the glace as a way to thank Toddric.

"How I fell about the Venetians?..." - Otto takes a while to think. "Hum, I've no business with Venice, but..." - Otto looks at the door, making sure that they are alone, he then approaches Toddric, "Where there is profit to be taken I'm in!" - Otto smiles.

"Tell me, what would you propose, to... let's say..., remove Venice of our way?"

Otto was a man of ethics, he wouldn't attack someone without a proper casus belli to do it, however the presented offer was to good to be denied, if Otto could achieve control over Venice he would become very powerful among the Reich nobles. This was a proposal worth to listen.
