So first off as many of you probably would agree with is that I find “Third Age – Total War” to be one of the greatest mods I’ve ever stumbled upon. Marvelous work of both the enthusiasm for the lore of Tolkien’s mythos and of the dedication to their own modding work. So, since I did not say thanks to all involved still active and long gone till now… thank you!
Now I recently got into MOS and the sheer amount of content and depth added to the general gameplay once again is nothing short of marvelous.

One thing there is that I feel is kind of missing though and that is the ability to command units of the different factions under one banner. Since I have only played the good guys so far I am primarily talking about the good factions of men (although the bad factions surely could and probably should be part of what I imagine to hopefully come about also).
Now there are two mods that I know of and one of them very specifically does what I want and the other does it as well, but to a more limited degree.
.

The first one is proximusj’s Diplomacy & Invasions (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...light=proximus) and the second one is the “Spawning Additional Units Submod” (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=430666) by Withwnar which amazingly is already part of MOS.
I am now going to outline what bascically is the raw idea of what is spinning around in my head, fully knowing that I both lack the knowledge of how to do modding in Total War 2 and the knowledge of the endless depths that is or can be proper balance within this specific modification.

I imagine that based on your reputation with other factions in combination with other factors that must be met allied factions would offer direct assistance in the common struggle against their foes. Right now there is the occasional money bomb that the player can receive as a token of friendship of allied AI factions, but there also could be the much more direct assistance in form of men power. If these units should only consist of Tier 1 or Tier 2 units or if all units of said allied factions should be available is up to a discussion of course. Certainly there would need to be a set limit of allied reinforcements that a player can receive, but again that should be open to discussion. Should you pay upkeep for them? Should they be retrainable? Everywhere? Only in your capital? And so forth.
It certainly should not be to easy to actually get that kind of direct assistance from your allies though.

Possible factors that should be met in order to gain them could be:

- Being Allied with a faction
- Having Military acces (both ways), which I find to be almost exclusively achievable by trading or selling provinces to your allies
- Reaching and holding a certain set level of diplomacy standings for a specific number of turns
- Reaching a certain set turn in your cmpgn
- Having a certain set event happening in you cmpgn (invasions for example)
- Needing the Ally to control a specific number of or at least all of its starting provinces
-

Yeah, so that is basically what I have in mind. I do know that often modders are the kind of people that really just want to do and work on which they seem fit and that is most of the times the reason why their work is so good, BUT maybe somewhere out there a couple of guys would be willing to give it a shot or at least ponder upon it.

If you successfully read my post to this point then you might as well post what you think about it. So feel free to do just that.

For the dime but still possible chance that all this already in some form or fashion is part of MOS and I just did not get to it yet, then ... well ... .
