    Default Retinue/Traits: What's the best you've had?

Hello all. Long-time reader, first-time poster.

I would like to know if any of you have had any characters with outstanding (i.e. tough, bizarre, etc.) ancilliaries or traits in your campaigns, and what these were.

I got this idea while playing and noticing that my Faction Leader had more people in his entourage than units in his city, but sadly, I can't remember what all there was. I remember the ordinary Drillmaster and Wrestler, but also some "exotic" ones as well. I think I remember, for some strange reason, seeing the words "Pet Idiot" in there somewhere...

    What have ye?

I really wish there was a way to remove unwanted Rutines (spelling? Lol). Like all of my generals getting artist, or less usefull ones. The only way I know is to move them to empty/crappy generals, but most of them still have the useless ones already

i cant remember all his traits, but one of my generals had "excellent commander", a trait that made him better at attacking, and one that made him very god at ambushing. man i owned with that dude, he had a ton of command stars, and died during a campaign at the age of 95. Of course, his son was a guy with 0 command stars, and was an "artist". grrr

'Legendary Commander' adds about five or six command points to your character. The best retinue I ever had was some priest, it gave me +3 command, +3 management and +3 influence.

Numerius the Infantryman - Infantry commander of Genius - probably one of my more memorable traits.
    Legendary Seige Expert

But my favorite guy was Valerius the Killer - Got his name for assassinating like there was no tomorrow.

Once when I was fighting the Germans I met a man named Something the Bloody. He had a huge army with gold chev units and he was a ten star general. I sent 19 units of Equites and a General just to kill him.

I've had some awesome generals since I've been playing RTW. I ofen used to have 'The Horseman' at the end (or something like that) because of my use of cavalry with that general. I have also had 'Scarred' and i swear i had 'The Ugly'. Those come from the 'scarred' trait. Can't really remember the other traits though.
Under retinue, i always have mercenary captain as i am always recruiting mercs. This makes mercs cheaper and give your general +1 command which is always handy.

Oh and welcome to the forum

187bc in SPQR eh. That must have taken a long time, and you must have had a lot of battles. Looks like a good campaign. (Welcome to the forum)

In RTW:BI atm. One general has 2 command from usual stuff. And Trusty Steed, Stablemaster, Superb Cavalary Commander, Superb Attacker and some more. So when he is attacking with cavalary it makes atleast 10 . Playing romans btw.

I've had National Hero once. I really want to try to get Legendary Seige Expert, never had that one.

Oh, about morale too. One had +8 morale thanx to his retinue/traits and another one had about -6,afraid of the barbarians etc

Hmm... counted the negative moral general again... got -13. Sending that one out with an army would be an instant disaster , bet my men would flee as soon as they get on the field.

Never had an all time uber-General. I've had plenty of realy bad ones, but no really good ones.
