When was the issue of who owned what regions completely settled? Because I'm attempting to figure out where to put the residence of my character, and I don't know if I need to edit the history so that he and his band of followers ended up taking control of a small region, or if some place was granted to him when he fought with the emperor, of if he just has some small place near the capital and is just an exiled nobleman.

It wasn't. The Kaiser will hand out all the land at the beginning of the game. What you should be doing right now is coming up with arguments to convince him of why you should be made lord of whatever province.

Awesome. I found this map, and if we use this, or a variation of it, I'll just go for Carniola, or Carniola + Carinthia.

A more detailed map is being worked on. I am slowly working on the rest of the provinces surrounding the Empire. We have covered all of Spain, British Isles, France, Italy, HRE and Scandinavia. Still need to fill in Hungary, ERE, Anatolia, and Russia.

We are using CKII map.
