Kingdoms Won't Install due to "can't read game language"?

As the tittle says, when I try to install Medieval 2 Kingdoms expansion, it says something along the line "Can't read game language" or something like that. I uninstalled then reinstalled Medieval 2 to see if that worked, but it still doesn't work. I currently have version 1.0 of Medieval 2 and I really hope someone knows how to fix this. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thank you if you can help me out.

Is Kingdoms the same language as Medieval2?
Did you buy them seperately or as Gold Edition?

I bought Medieval2 at Bestbuy like 2 years ago and I bought Kingdoms off Amazon, both are disks. I don't really know what it means by language, my Medieval 2 is in English, and when I try to install Kingdoms, i hit language, then next, then it crashes.

US for all of them, I still don't get what it means by language, so i tried also installing it in French and Spanish, but those also didn't work. :/ I really appreicate you trying to help me. To download Kingdoms do I have to have a certain version of Medieval2?

If ouy have more than one language, odds are you have the EU disc. Look on the box real good.

If so, it's incompatible with the US Medieval2. Time to return it if this is the problem.

Yeah I think i might have the EU Kingdoms one, some of the things are written in what looks like German, so if I have to buy an American verison of Kingdoms?
