Rudi begins work on some research which he had been considering for months in the realm of the law of the land.. It was his belief that with the Golden Bull of 1356, much of the old tradition and history of the Empire had gone with it. Thus he sat down and began to write..

A Treatise on Reform

Whereas it was enacted in 1356 that the constitutional practices of the Empire shall be set in stone for hundreds of years, it also created a situation not desired by any nation that seeks to be both a hegemonic and religiously powerful nation. Rather than fixing the role of the Emperor to be our leader given to us by God, it gave the Emperor much free reign on what he wanted, entirely dependant on their personality. If this Bull is to be upheld for the four hundred years it outlines, then the key lands of the Empire could be neglected and the chances of us being over-run are increasingly prevalent. Before it is too late, general peace amongst the electorates and the Empire as a whole must be established and reform similar to the laws of the past must be enacted.

Rudi rested his quill, and so it began.

Magnus z Lotrinske approaches the office of Rudi von Sternberg. His father, Frederick, had told him about the von Sternberg family in the past. Word had come to Magnus' ears about Rudi's ability as a man of the quill. The Bohemian approached the office and knocked twice before waiting. The noble wore his best clothing for this unexpected visit.

Rudi hears a knock on the door, and standing, looks through a window to see who it was.. He certainly recognised the feature but not the face. He opened the door and spoke,

"Yes?"

Magnus bows his head to Rudi before speaking.

Rudi von Sternberg I presume?

Magnus smiles and notices the rather humble settings...very well kept for a man who was known for writing.

I am Magnus z Lotrinske, a fellow Bohemian from Prague. My father knew of your family very well and spoke highly of them. You may remember his name as Frederick II z Lotrinske.

Rudi took the hand and moved the man inside, towards the fire..

"Yes I know of the house, but sadly do not know you or him personally. But now I am pleased to make such an aquaintance."

Von Sternberg sat behind his desk,

"Are you in some legal trouble?"

Magnus takes his seat before Rudi and smiles once more.

No legal troubles yet, my good friend. However...I have another matter that would interest you.

The noble ponders on how to say it then speaks to the fellow Bohemian.

On behalf of my house, z Lotrinske, I wish to offer patronage to you, Rudi von Sternberg. I have heard of your abilities in law and writing...and a man with your sort of talent would be of great use not only for Bohemia's future but the Empire's as well.

Rudi smiles,

"Very well then, mein Herr, I shall not let you down."

Magnus bows his head. He pulls out a journal and offers it to rudi.

I may have some work for you to do. My brother has been working on a memoir about the six years of strife in Bohemia and the campaigns we lead during those times...and he was never good at writing nor words. This is what he has done so far.

"Very well, so you wish me to.. Refine it?"

[Lucius Malfoy]

If needed, please do. However...if you feel it needs to be rewritten, I will gladly tell you all the firsthand accounts from those years to help in writing it.

A cavalier comes galloping and skids to a halt outside the building. He gives 5 sharp taps on to the door.

The soldier is shown in, Rudi had been working late and the candle was almost out,

"Yes?"

The soldier come inside noisily, his armour clanking on the floor.

I bring word from the Kaiser.

[M D]

Rudi looked surprised, he was sure this was a joke,

"Well then, go ahead.."

[m_1512]

The Kaiser wished me to find a person well versed in Legal matters. His Chancellor said that it was an important task.

[M D]

"And am I simply to proceed to Nassau? That will take days without posting horses."

[m_1512]

He looked incredulously at the man in front of him.

And do you wish to just barge into his chambers? You have to first meet the Chancellor.

[M D]

"Then very well. However I shall require your escort."

[m_1512]

No need. The Chancellor is on his way. I was just sent to announce his purpose.
