    Default Installation thoughts..

I have tried to find some information about where to install med2 and then installing ss 6.3 and then 6.4. The reason i ask is because i have an ssd disk with windows installed, and i wanna put med2 on my mecanichal disk instead (to save some storage room for the ssd). Is this possible, or is it important for med2 and Stainless steel to be installed in program files or whatever?

    Thanxs

Not 100% sure, but I believe installing M2TW and SS to different location than Program Files is perfectly viable. I don't see any reason for it to not work on any other location.

In fact, many mods RECOMMEND installing the game to a different location as a safety measure.

the medieval 2 gold installer is slightly bugged and doesn't allow you to change where you install it.

    This is what I found:

Due to a check in the "master" installer for Med II Gold, if you don't have enough space on drive C:, you can't install the game via the autorun-based setup.

In this case, please use the individual versions' setup programs, which have no such check and will allow you to install at any path you choose:

You find them in these places (please install them in this order):

Medieval II : Disc 1, in folder \m2tw\Disk1

    Update2: Disc 2, in folder \Update2\

    Update3: Disc 2, in folder \Update3\

AddOn Americas: Disc 2, in folder \americas\

AddOn Britannia: Disc 2, in folder \britannia\

AddOn Crusades: Disc 2, in folder \crusades\

AddOn Teutonic: Disc 2, in folder \teutonic\
So basically if you install the game in separate parts it should let you choose where to install it. I remember my friend having the exact same problem.
