So I've got two completely irrelevant questions about the VC.
1. The name of the von Carsteins unit suggest that they're your family members. Why do we have to use these family members as mundane soldiers rather than generals?
2. When did the VC skeletons learn how to use bows and ride horses made of bone? I only remember the TK ones being able to do so.

Some noble families tend to get very big over time, it wouldn't be a surprise if you have a few hundred extended relatives over the course of a few hundred years.

Couple in the factors that they live forever, and can turn other people into vampires and their membership ought to be pretty high.

A vampire line is anyone connected to the starting blood. So 1 Von Carstein creates 10 more who each create 10... etc. The further from the original the weaker initially though even weak vampires can grow strong over time. So think of the soldiers as the newer, weaker members of the von Carstein line and it makes more sense.

in the warhammer series... whne you are without Blood, and get infected with a vampire Blood you become a Vampire too cuz the dna is mixed to vampire dna (mixing the bloodline) and acquire new powers too of the old your master (or from the dudes that changed the Blood with you) there's no reference in this but they are also similar, Manfred was created by Vlad which created Konrad and other few dudes Fritz, Hans, and another 1 i dont' remember the name all called Von Carstein... (they were 5 + Vlad) no More, in the game are probably the ipotetic progeny of Mannfred that's why can be called Von Carstein > turned in vampire

when Vlad Von Carstein got killed At Altdorf, Konrad Being the Only one to be alive and he was the Lord of sylvania, ecxept Mannfred, he left the Sylvania For Visit Arabia (for Learn Magic and the rest of the book of Nagash), Then Konrad gone near Nuln where there is a Small Castle where are located the other Vampires another bloodline made by a dude... don't remember the name but this dude Killed the Old Templar Order (like the blazing sun, but it was called Blood something.)and turned them into Vampires... he then Made an alliance for killing the Empire... but he fails miserable cuz he was quite stupid...

Mannfred Von Carstein was left alone and come back to Take the command he is a good Mage and Resurected a lot of death dudes from the Dooms made an Army and Died near the River east to waldehof (hellfen)

Von Carstein were resurrected with the help of a necromancer, this Dude needed a virgin to Do it... but when he was doing Gotrek Gurnisson Made him in 2 parts and lolled but some blood gone on Mannfred Corpse and Resurected him cuz the necromancer was a Vergineel too...

He come back to Sylvania and then it's your turn...

Yeah it's true also the catapults is not from Vampire Counts but it's needed in a sieg and you really think that a General like Mannfred can be so silly to not use Warmachines?... but in all honesty warhammer Miniatures game changes every few years.. if i good remember first version of Vampire Counts they had the Archers...

in the story they have no Skills so they just Shot in directions they don't have to Understand or Learn anything they do just what Mannfred asks. Actually in the new Army book you can see some New Unites like Ghost Khnight or the Templars that i was talking about in the other post... There are some Khignt called Black Nights they have the Horses made with Bones but is covered by the a good harness.
