Medieval II has suffered a fatal error and will now exit
I can't figure out why this message keeps popping up. I've been going at this mod for a couple of days now. Does anyone else get this? It says CA LIBS at the top. I've turned off UAC, reinstalled med2 and kingdoms, made sure to run SS_setup as administrator, and I've even tried the trick where you rename the SS folder to one of the kingdoms campaigns. I've browsed the forums and tried some tricks people suggest, but nothing is working. I've arrived at my last resort: asking you guys. Is there anything else I can do to get past this error?

No, only SS 3 and 4. This happens when I used kingdoms.exe. However, when I used medieval2.exe, something different happened. The launcher had two options, medieval 2 and Stainless Steel. I click SS and it actually began loading for about 5 seconds. Then a new error message popped up. It said Medieval 2 at the top and the message was just a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. I have no idea what this means.
Also, sorry for the double post, I clicked submit new thread and nothing happened, so I clicked it again after a few minutes.

It works. The new steam update seemed to fix it. Credit to Kilmantor for telling me about the update.

I had the same error! How did you get the steam update?
