It's taken a bit longer than expected, but Pink Floyd will finally release their Pulse DVD on July 11th. The two-disc set mixes live footage from the 14 shows that singer-guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, and keyboardist Rick Wright did at Earl's Court in London in December 1994 on the Division Bell tour, with videos and other promotional material, the films used as a backdrop during the shows,

The light show has to be seen to be believed. Every song is a work of art in its own right. Im pretty much left speechless. If you want to see what Floyd was really like in concert I urge you to get this DVD. No other band has production like this. Its the total audio visual experience and It clearly shows why many consider Pink Floyd to be the ultimate concert experience. I cant think of a better concert Ive seen on DVD. In fact Im gonna roll another fatty and watch it again.

I heard Floyd last summer in Hyde park and a I can say is they were well worth the wait; a fitting end to a superb concert. How come these "oldies" blew everyone else out of the water?

I've not seen the Pulse DVD Rush, but I'm sure you're right when you say it's the total audiovisual experience. However, for the ultimate sound try the 4-disc vinyl set (if you can get it!). It was recorded using valve (vacuum tube) open-reel taped decks and valve equipped desks.

Played back on my Linn - Audio Research - Spendor system in a darkened room, the sense of being there is almost unbelievable.

Mind you, vinyl still makes CD sound pretty silly anyway, and it makes me think how the music industry managed to dump it on us!

Well its not an album its a DVD.

Yeah many people dont realise this. CDs were made so that the poor man could get good audio but not great audio.

That performance pales next to this one even though there No Waters here.

By the way to me the highlites were the opening with Shine on. Then of course you will notice that the 2nd DVD is Darkside of the Moon done in its entirety. Now I would rather have had Wish you were here but you certainly cant compllian about this. The encore alone makes it worth the money.

PS I love the three multitalented female backup singers, They really show their stuff on Money and "The Great Gig In The Sky. Also after watching this you have to admit that David Gilmor is one talented SOB.

Believe me the idea ran through my head. But this is much more than an album. Like I said Pink Floyd concerts are the ultimate audio visual experiences. Their one of the few bands where their better in concert or should I say more impressive, than in the studio. We all know the songs on Pulse but the video is half the ballgame here. Ive worked as a roady for Floyd so I know the work that goes into one of these concerts. No other band brings this amount of equipment to a show. They bring you into their world. A world of sound and colors. I remember my first real GF loved Sid Barrett era Floyd. Were talking when thats all the Floyd there was in 69. I joked to her that you would need to do a hit of acid to enjoy that stuff. Well after doing many hits of acid I can tell you going to a Floyd concert gave you the trip even if you didnt take the acid. Im sorry many of you well never have the chance to experience it. But so far this DVD is as close as you can come.

Hey I couldnt get this to work for me but hopefully some of you will have better luck. Its got clips of the DVD.

The German website d-play.de have a wonderful new Pink Floyd Pulse DVD Preview page! You can watch several clips from the DVD which last around 1 minute each.

The clips include several tracks from the performance (High Hopes, Keep Talking, Another Brick In The Wall, Money and Comfortably Numb) as well as a sneak peak at some of the features (Bootlegging the Bootleggers, Video of Learning To Fly and Goodbye To Life As We Know It)!

    Watch Now

You can go to the d-play.de site on this page and the player should pop-up for you. You may need to "allow popups" for that site and refresh the page in order for the player to.. well.... pop up for you!!

You can read the previous news story on the Pulse DVD for the full DVD contents.

It seems amny of you fail to realise that I was a 60s flower child. After I got out of the Marines I hit my rebelous stage. Long haired hippy ,pot smoking , acid taking, free love freak that I was.
