    Default Zooming on Cities

so this was a future they added on Rome Total War and then they removed it. With how much the CA is boasting about the colossal cities, i would definitely would like this feature to be back.

Its really lame to see the magnificent cities only before you end up burning them to hell with your army.

I wanna be able to visit a Rome on full splendor, a Carthage not on flames, Athens at its apex!

    Let us visit cities!

nice suggestion, depending if there will be more then one families to choose when playing with Rome. But I agree it would be cool, if you conquer Gaul or such, when you return to Rome for promotion that you also have some sort of cinematics of triumph in Rome

I believe Carthage is already done my friend, all the screenies are of there. Would definitely like to see this feature back again though. Was always fun watching my little pleb's running around the town square.

Personally, I would like to see the military patrolling streets aswell with the exception of Rome itself.

    I agree!
but i just don't wanna watch people walking down the street in the city, probably some activities, like archery range training, gladiator game, Army Guarding the walls, etc...

Maybe from time to time, see some bad things happening such as someone stealing and getting caught? Would be neat in a city view feature along with it. Spice it up lol

i think that everyone would love to see this feature back again. agreed with the other people that it needs more flavor.

Id personally like to see it linked to the campaign side. so if happiness is low then you will see things like small mobs roaming or people outside the government building arguing. in the side of corruption if it is high in the city then you will see more people stealing or doing other things . troops marching round the city in small squads dependent on how many you have stationed there (more marching round if more are present). possibly tax collectors/secret police doing raids with troops to quell any resistance.

    just some ideas.

I'd like to see city guard patrols, people buying at markets, gladiator fights, people chatting etc. basically, daily life. Although, I'm not sure if this would be possible on the performance side of things.

It would certainly be possible performance-wise, depending on how they set it up (read: how much of the city is loaded at once and to what degree of detail). The question is, is all that extra programming and work worth it for a feature that is not the focus of the game? I'd like to just sit and watch my burgeoning settlements inbetween grand conquests, but if that development time can be better spent somewhere else, please do so, CA.

In fact, this is something that I wouldn't mind being released as DLC, after launch, when they have more time to work on extra goodies.

Yeah, agreed. I would like to see it, but only if the rest of the game was a polished as it could be. Perhaps if they finish early (incredibly unlikely) and have free time up to release.

I'm also up for it being DLC

I loved the city view of Rome total war. It would nice to see people walking about again. But then again CA doesn't want preverts in it's community.
