Default Should the Romans get ripped gladiator units with a special "jumping stab" ability?

So we all know historical accuracy is absolutely boring. And that Spartacus, 300, etc. are a far more "fun" version of history that the all-important American audience absolutely loves. So how about replacing the boring clone legions with ripped gladiators in loincloths, who do flying jumping slow motion stabs as a special ability that can own any unit in the game? That would obviously be a lot more fun.

Yes? No (wrong answer for boring people obsessed with 'historical accuracy' - this isn't a university classics course!)?

He's denoting us Americans for being ignorant. Most of us are, but it's a pretty big insult because I study history.

It's already been established he is Canadian, so it was meant in a derogatory manner. Just a complete troll post from the historical accuracy fanatics, and a closer insight into what some people really think as the reasoning behind CA not making the game 100% historically accurate other than the inflated posts they make in the other threads.

Sure, if you are into naked, muscular guys, and up-close violence that have nothing to do with an strategy game, those are the shows for you.

No, of course no, this is a forum about a game called Total War Rome. Your point exactly?

EDIT: Oh I see now... never mind my answers. Whoever I wouldn't blame it over a single country, it's more like a global issue of idiocy. When people thought about globalization I guess they where hopping to spread culture and knowledge, instead stupidness got a hold

And Americans are the only people who like 300? Such an idiot. You don't really help your cause much by going to the absolute extreme that anything historically inaccurate is where CA should spend their time. You just make that side even more annoying and whiny.

Also, I don't think many people realize 300 was based on a book. Not history.

Of course that covers the infantry part only. For the cav section, one should think about mutant zombie elephants with cannons in their back, rebuilding strength by feasting on corpses.

Any ideas for the artillery/missile part?

I think sharks with lasers would be perfect for naval battles, i am sure they are mentioned in some peoples' myths so they have a perfectly valid reason to appear in a historical based game. Also, you know all the alien myths surrounding the Pyramids etc? Well i think it is basis enough to give the egyptians a flying saucer unit, a perfect "historical twist".

Well thankfully, Frank Miller and Zack Snyder haven't been chosen as consultants by CA, so far.

Don't get too sensitive, what's true is true (in terms of what appeals to the American audience). You think that was an insult? How about displaying a whole nation (still present, by the way, on the world map) as a bunch of monsters, "enslaving the free world" and destroying culture and civilisation? Now that's an insult.

    That it would be.
    Luckily they didn't do that.

    Fixed that for you.

Tarring an entire national society with the same ignorant brush...isn't that one of the (supposed) reasons people hate Americans?
